Gomez with another point. That's 8 points in his last 9 games.

Seems to be got out of his slump.
It took two years and a team change.

what a great game to watch ducks / hawks. important to watch and see how those teams are built. I think we match up much better with Chicago. The ducks size scares the **** out of me. Great balance with the big 3 forwards + additional size in winnik, palmieri etc..plus good goaltending, size on D + puck movers and the small guys in cogliano, koivu and selanne AND they feel the need to dress a goon too in staubitz.

Chicago has issues in nets - not impressed with crawford or emery ..they have a skilled deep D and of course world class forwards in kane, toews and to a lesser extent sharp and hossa. they also have size in bickell and bolland and a goon in bollig and young guys who have stepped up.

would absolutely love for us to add a tough guy and another winger like pacioretty. i think long term tinordi, ellis, beaulieu etc...solve all our D problems...

Happy for him, he seems like a good guy.

Gomez was never a problem for his personality. In fact, thats why it probably took so long for him to leave MTL. He just sucked so bad that it doesn't matter how good a guy you are. I am happy for him though, hopefully he can revamp is career a bit.

he's also a minus 10 and has 2 goals in 23 games.
i watch the Sharks too. He's ok, still does a whole lot
of skating around into nowhere but seems in better
shape and more implicated than he was here.
still supremely happy he's gone

The Hawks play much better in their own end than the Ducks. IMO the Habs could score on Anaheim. The problem is, the Ducks could score more on the Habs.

Speaking of that goon, I expect Bollig to get a nice fine for that high stick on Andrew Cogliano right at the faceoff immediately after the goal to put Anaheim ahead, and which knocked out some teeth.

You are giving way too much credit to the new GM and coach on that playoff run. If they really did such an outstanding job, success would have been more enduring, which is not that case. That one-off playoff success is similar to Habs playoff run where they beat Caps and Pens. Besides, most of Bolts' main actors were pre-Yzerman.

Boucher doesn't get any credit for that run?

What THAT present coaching staff understand, compared to the one we had, is that they are managing his icetime. He played 12 minutes yesterday. Nothing like what Martin used to believe he was still worth.

Lupul has a hearing today for his headshot. I'm guessing 2 games because the head was the principal point of contact and he left his feet, but lucky for him Hedman wasn't injured.

Palmieri is 5'10... After the big 3, the Ducks have no size, save for maybe Winnik who doesn't play physical and staubitz who will rarely play.

The only bad thing about their D is their speed, which MTL could maybe take advantage of, but their goalies have been so good, and their system seems to work with the players they have.

Also Bolland is 5'11! Both teams in terms of size isn't really an issue. I think The Hawks would be harder to go through cause that defence is crazy! and the Gamebreaking possibilities are endless in the top 6.

Feel like Winnipeg are our bros.. remind me of those Habs teams that worked hard and always slipped into 7th or 8th.. pulling for them until the end.. take the division Jets!

2 Canadian teams as the heads of divisions do look good.

Yeah I never root against the Jets, especially since we beat them in their franchise home opener.

Watched a bit of the Leaf game last night, Tampa was bad...

Did you guys notice whenever they showed all the GM's up in the suites, that Bergevin was always sitting by Edmontons GM Tambo??

Just saying...
