Nope, but Nelson confirmed that he is in tonight.

OKC last played on Wednesday of last week. They are 2 points out of a playoff spot, but have played the fewest games in the confrence. They have as many as 4-6 games in hand on some teams ahead of them.

I see that Lander has surfaced again after his injury, 1 G, +1, in his comeback although the team lost.

Did anyone see the game? In that case I'd just like to know how he looked.

BREAKING: The Thunder has signed rookie D Daniel Gibb (WHL - Prince George). More details coming shortly.

6'3 218lbs.

Anyone know if the Oilers have anything to do with these signings? I know we don't own his rights, but do the Oilers scout these guys and tell Stockton that here's a kid that would be a decent pickup?

I know the Oilers had a lot to do with the McFaull signing in OKC. They had someone here in MJ looking at him a lot and McFaull said himself that he had had a lot of contact with the Oilers scouts throughout the year. So I'm sure the same would be true with Gibb.

He looked fine, especially considering it was his first game back. His goal he benefitted from a nice pass from Rajala on a 2 on 1. Playing with Rajala might be just what It takes to jump start his offensive production. He will be relied upon heavily on this playoff push. He is slotted in as 2nd line C and playing in all situations.

Well after splitting two games over the weekend OKC is tied for 8th with 14 games left in the season.

Pos Team ------- GP - Pts
5 -- Houston --- 64 - 75
6 -- Rochester - 64 - 74
7 -- Milwaukee - 63 - 71
8 -- Chicago ---- 62 - 69
----------------------------
9 -- OKC -------- 62 - 69
10 - Rockford --- 64 - 69
11 - Abbotsford - 67 - 69
12 - Peoria ------ 66 - 67
13 - Lake Erie --- 66 - 66

http://theahl.com/stats/statdisplay....ason=&confId=0

This is who the Barons play through their remaining schedule:
3 games: Chicago
2 games: Houston, Abbotsford, and Hamilton (15th - 56pts.)
1 game: Rochester, Rockford, Peoria, Texas (1st - 85pts.), and Toronto (2nd - 80pts.)

6 Home games - Hamilton, Chicago (2), Abbotsford (2), Houston
8 Away games - Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, Texas, Houston, Rochester, Hamilton, Toronto.

OKC Barons schedule: http://theahl.com/stats/schedule.php...=&division_id=

Chicago with a very similar though slightly tougher schedule with 6 Home, and 8 Away games left. Both Chicago and OKC have two 3-in-3 weekends left, including the last weekend of the season.

Chicago Wolves schedule: http://theahl.com/stats/schedule.php...=&division_id=

Milwaukee, Rockford, Abbotsford, Peoria, and Lake Erie all have tougher schedules, but have zero or only one 3-in-3 weekends. Rochester on the other hand has a pretty easy schedule but closes out the season with three 3-in-3 weekends. (<--- Just noticed this says "three 3-in-3" and my post is #333. Kinda neat.)

Tyler Pitlick, who has been recovering well ahead of schedule after tearing ligaments in his knee and was said to be out for the season, works his way back into the line up tonight in Peoria. He is playing on the 3rd line alongside Tyrvainen and Green.

Danis starts again, have to think Hovinen goes tomorrow night given it's a back to back and Danis has started so many in a row, unless Danis has a strong game tonight.

Kendall McFaull making his pro debut tonight, he will be paired with Brandon Davidson.

Ben Eager and Darcy Hordichuk are both healthy scratches. Interesting that they are scratched and the Barons aren't even dressing all the alotted vets they can each game. That is probably all that needs to be said at how they have played so far, Eager in particular. Hordichuk atleast plays hard and throws his weight around every shift, Eager looks awfully nonchalant out there which worries me given the mumblings of his questionable attitude.

On the topic of Eager and Hordichuk, I think OKC has to have one of the weakest vet core in the league. You have Hordichuk, Eager, and Byers who will provide very little offense. Anytime you use 3 vet spots on bottom 6, that hurts imo.

Thanks for the update. What are the chances that the team makes the playoffs? Do you think the lock out hurt them more than other teams when it was over?

Talent wise yes it hurt. But since the lockout ended we have seen them play a more sound game, sticking to the system. A lot seemed to be passengers and watched Eberle/Hall/Schultz do their magic, but now they seem to be more involved, getting much more production from depth guys.

Nelson said that Eberle\Hall\Schultz were invested with OKC, but not all in. Said they had to change the system they would play due to the NHLers not wanting to learn a whole new system when they didn't know if they would be gone the next day.

The Barons were a more talented team with those guys, but I'd say they are a "better" team without them to be honest. That's not a knock on the NHLers, but we are seeing guys know their roles are more defined now and everyone is sold out not worrying about if the NHL is coming back or not. The Barons are playing a greasy game now, whereas it seemed to be all razzle dazzle and finesse pre lockout.

Anyone been watching OKC games lately? I still have my AHL Live, maybe I'll check some of the old games. I'm really curious to see/hear how Rajala is doing. I figured he was never going to play a game in NA, but now it looks like he is one of the best players on the team.

This team is so much better without the NHLers and their fancy dan brand of hockey.

Wow what a night for Lander! Wish we could have him up here instead of Smyth centering the 4th line. On the other hand would it be best to leave him in OKC to keep on gaining confidence and put up points?

How has Rajala been?

Is he still the gifted small player that is afraid get physical? Seems like he has done well stat wise at least.
