Stay away from the penalty box and this should be an easy one.

Someone start a Pre-Game Talk thread for Saturday's game versus Buffalo because this game is an easy win.

After Tuesday's sour loss against Buffalo, I expect the Habs to explode in the first with 3-4 goals. And, I've got a good feeling about this game.

6-2 Montreal.
Galchenyuk scores 2.

lol. Would be nice. I need a good blowout game.

I doubt chucky with two though. Probably patch's with a pair.

Recently the most enjoyable player to watch has been Larry, I love when he get's the puck. He's so good now. I don't know what happened!

I just want a good entertaining hockey game the past two have been snoozers. Just let me yell "scoreesss" a couple time's I'll be good.

Poulin is starting for them, not Nabokov.

Yup. Via their Twitter account, the Islanders announced Poulin would start tonight and Carkner and Grabner are both back. Boulton and Martinek to sit.

?? - most experts are estimating 56 pts for a playoff spot which would leave us 13 points shy. Not getting the 25 pts you have listed.

56 points get you into the playoffs at the end of the season. The 25 points are to CLINCH a playoff spot : NJ Devils are 9th with 32 points and 18 games left. That gives them a max of 68 points. 68 - 25 = 43, the numer of points Habs got so far.

We will score the first goal, probably on the first shot, but then they'll score 5 in a row while the other goalie finishes the game with 40 saves. That pretty much sums it up.

As xSup3rM4ri0x said, that's the clinch point as of now. Everytime we win or 9th place team lose, it goes down 2 points. If we win and Nj lose in regulation tonight, we'll be at 21 points to playoff clinch. Same thing for home ice (with Ottawa at the moment).

Since we have teams with more points/games in hand than us, we cannot clinch Division/Conference /League even if we win all our games.

I see what you are trying to say, but the fact that a team wins 19 in a row while being second in the conference, you sure as hell know they will be first. To win all your games means other teams have to lose, especially in our division. If we beat all the teams in our division that we play in the next 19, how on earth would they catch us?

True, but I'm way to lazy to calculate their loss to us to see if we can clinch

We need Boston to lose their game in OT/Regulation to be truly ahead of them, but division lead is a good possibility right now. Getting conference lead in front of Pittsburgh is also possible, but a lot harder. Getting league lead would require Chicago/Anaheim to drop considerably.
