Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Pyatt-Miller-Callahan
Boyle-Halpern-Powe

If we are looking for offence from Kreider, you HAVE to put him with offensive players, PERIOD.

Stop the crap about having CK flanking Miller who I happen to love as a player, but is just not yet an offensive catalyst.

Lets see what the kid can do playing 15 minutes a night.

Let him play with Richards and Gabby, get CK some significant PP time.

stop dicking the kid around already and put him in position to SUCCEED and stop worrying so fricken much about a mistake here and there.

geez

Boyle is NOT a useless hockey player, he is a useless third liner. Somebody for the love of GOD bump that 3C thread from before the season started, and let's feed some posters some crow

If Boyle was on the fourth line, no one would have an issue with him here. The problem isn't Boyle, it's the personnel employed by the team. With Powe, Halpern, and now Miller around, Boyle is a redundant piece. He'd be a good fourth liner on most teams in the NHL, but I'd take Powe and Halpern over him any day. On the other hand, I'd take Boyle over Asham any day too. If the right personnel was in place, and Boyle could be on the fourth line LW, this would be a non-issue.

Fact is, it's not. Fact is, the posters like myself and others who were clamoring for a true 3C this off-season have been proven right.

For the most part this season, our third line has been Pyatt - Boyle - Miller. That's a COMBINED 12 points. Most of those belong to Pyatt (6) and he got all of those while he was playing in the top 6.
Boyle is a good 4th liner. But having him and Halpern is just pointless. This team needs a legitimate 3rd line center, and it could be Miller. It is definitely not Boyle. I like the guy and I hate to rag on him, but this team needs a 3rd line that can contribute offensively.

Beat the teams you're supposed to beat. Win this game, Rangers.

Really, really don't want to see Kreider with Miller and Boyle. Want him in the top six. Want him to be "unleashed" but play as a responsible two-way game as he was playing in CT. Anyways, excited to be going to my first Rangers game of the year tonight!

Why does Kreider deserve to supplant anyone in the top 6 at this point. If anything, Richards would be the guy to move down, but Kreider doesn't play center. Who else would you move down?

Andrew Gross ‏@AGrossRecord 18m Cap't Cally turns 28 today. Tonight marks 7th time he'll play on his b-day. On his 24th in 2009, he had 2 goals in a 5-3 win over Sabres.

Happy Birthday Captain Cally, the heart and soul of this team!

He's strong along the boards, sound defensively and eats up minutes. With better linemates he'd pot a few more, but what do you expect when he's playing with Miller and Boyle?

Miller actually makes plays. Pyatt everytime he shoots either A. misses the net, or B. its weak right into the goalie. I don't mind his play, but he's not a threat to score. Would be a great 4th liner though.

By far the worst defensive team in the NHL. Let's crush them.

Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan line has been great lately, but I like your lines. offense spread throughout.

The death of this team this year is the lack of talent (except for Miller) on the bottom two lines (plus the poor playof Richards and Gaborik, but at least there there is some recent improvement and hope for the future). I would let Richards center the third line and put Kreider in the top-6, we saw his talent last year in the playoffs.

I agree with you, but again it is difficult when you consider Boyle is terrible and Miller is still adjusting to the NHL. Pyatt is frustrating me too lately, however.

I thought he would be an upgrade over Feds, he hasn't even been relatively close.

Oh, so 2004 wasn't Callahan's first year of draft eligibility?

Called Boyle playing with Kreider last night. Not surprised, just disappointed that Tortorella thinks Kreider's speed is most effective when he plays with an oaf.
