No he's not. There's a reason why he doesn't PK.

No matter what line he's on, I want to see Kreider come out with some serious fire. I want to see him use his speed and strength.

I do not want to hear any excuses about minutes or line-mates if he fails to do this.

Pyatt is indeed strong along the boards.

Let's go Rangers. No predictions from me, we always seem to lose when I do.

Well, good to see that everyone has their built-in excuse for why Kreider does nothing. (Boyle)

I want Kreider to do well and everything, but if he's just out there going through the motions like last time then it won't matter who he's playing with.

I pray you are kidding? Miller had high school teammates that were better to play with then Pyatt.

Kreider:

Quote:
On being stronger in the opponents’ zone in terms of forechecking and wall work: “It wasn’t just coming out with the puck, it was putting the defensemen in a position to turn the puck over, trying to get a stick on puck. Producing for your linemates without the puck, using your legs to create offense for them. Special teams came up.”
If thats why he got sent down, then Gaborik should be next.

I know they have two days off and dont play again until Sunday, but I would have started Biron tonight.

Reason - The Rangers have won 2 in a row, emotional win two nights ago. We all know what can happen after a game like that, especially when you have the worst team in the league coming into your building. False sense of security.

Start Biron and the focus is on defense, I always feel like the Rangers play a better defensive game with him in the pipes. I feel like they need that type of mindset tonight against a team like the Panthers and not get overconfident with themselves. (even after a measly 2 game winning streak).

Its either win a game you should win, or epic fail tonight.

Maybe the bus will be waiting for Boyle but unfortunately it will be for CK.
I would have liked to see Pyatt on the wing and Miller at center on that third line with CK since Torts is not putting him with the Stepan or Richards lines.

I would've laughed when this board came up with ANY excuse as to why CK and Miller didn't look good together.

Hopefully CK looks better than he did the first time around.

Also, as much as i'd like to see Biron start this one, I have to be glad Henke is since this'll be my first game of the season at the Garden.

OT but with mta construction on Queens bound lines, anyone know when the last e/f lines going into queens will leave 34th st? Is the 10pm subway the last of the night or the track closes at 10pm? Trying to see how to get back to Forest Hills after the game.

If Boyle was on the fourth line, no one would have an issue with him here. The problem isn't Boyle, it's the personnel employed by the team. With Powe, Halpern, and now Miller around, Boyle is a redundant piece. He'd be a good fourth liner on most teams in the NHL, but I'd take Powe and Halpern over him any day. On the other hand, I'd take Boyle over Asham any day too. If the right personnel was in place, and Boyle could be on the fourth line LW, this would be a non-issue.

Fact is, it's not. Fact is, the posters like myself and others who were clamoring for a true 3C this off-season have been proven right.

For the most part this season, our third line has been Pyatt - Boyle - Miller. That's a COMBINED 12 points. Most of those belong to Pyatt (6) and he got all of those while he was playing in the top 6.
Boyle is just a defensive more skilled version of Hugh Jessiman. if Boyle wasnt a center, he would still be in the AHL.

This board is crazy at times. So what some of you are suggesting is we should disrupt the first two lines to get CK ice time, is this what I am reading! This kid has proved nothing to this organization or to his teammates that he is a top six forward on this team.

He came in last year in a situation that any 20 year old in the world would love to fall into! Playing in the NHL playoffs is a dream for every plyer that gets drafted. He had his chance to prove himself at the beginning of the year and he did not do that!! This is how it works in the NHL. If you don't produce you go to the AHL and try ti figure some things out, and hope you get another shot. Ck is getting that shot tonight and hopefully he plays well enough to stay. If he does not play well while is is here guess what? They will send him down again. That's how it works!!

This team is going no where if Gabby and Richy don't get going! They played better in New Jersey on Tuesday night. There is no way CK is a top six forward on this team right now. He will have his opportunity prove himself over the next couple of weeks. After winning two straight, scoring a few goals, and finally having two lines going, you can not break that up. If CK wants to play with the top six forwards on this team he will have to earn that. Torts will not just give that to him!

CK is a long ways away from being a top six forward in this league, but he will be given another chance to prove he is tonight and I hope he plays well enough to stay this time because god knows we need some scoring from our third line!!!

Teams groom young players on the 3rd line all the time. Callahan and Dubinsky were groomed on the 3rd line. People complain about lack of offensive depth, well here ya go. Miller and Kreider on the 3rd line. The problem isn't that they're on the 3rd line, it's that we don't have enough quality centers to go around. Torts should seriously consider double-shifting Stepan and Richards on the third line with the rookies.

If Kreider can't score while playing on the 3rd line, then what good is he to us? He needs to focus on developing his game and growing as a player, and in my opinion there's no better way to do that than playing defensively important minutes on the 3rd line.
