Wow, what the hell?

Offensive zone face off and Worcester leaves the goalie pulled. Peters wins the draw and dumps it into the net.

I've never seen anything like it.

Baby Pen's vs. Portland, just started a bit ago.

Zatkoff in the net.

EDIT: Miele for Portland with the goal. Got behind the defense and went forehand-backhand with a sweet shot.

EDIT: wow, Portland gets a second about a minute later. A shot just inside the blueline. Will have to see it again, not sure if Zatkoff was screened or not. Sloppy defense by the Pen's. Mormina and Grant, not looking that great there. 2-0 Portland.

I know I have mentioned this a few times, but damn it is so much fun watching Morrow skate. He is one of the most "beautiful" skaters I have seen in all my years of watching hockey. A please to watch. So smooth, and powerful. He reminds me of Zarely Zalapski in that regard, (but let's hope he can put it together better than Double Z did). I think he will. He is playing with a lot of confidence right now.

EDIT: Still not sure if Samuelsson is anything more than a marginal prospect, but I am very impressed with his progress from a couple years ago.

EDIT: Gibbons using his considerable speed to get a steal and a great scoring chance behind the Portland D. The puck eventually went in after a stop by the Portland goalie, but the play was ruled dead.

Damn, Alex Grant throwing it down.........very impressive fight by Grant. He was throwin' 'em.

EDIT: a couple of totally unrelated Boston references by Gracie already.\

EDIT: Morrow taking a hit to make the play. Kept the puck in at the blueline, and knew he was going to get hit. And HIT HE GOT. He got plastered, and was put on his wallet.

If either Megna or Gibbons had hands they would be dangerous. But then again, if they had hands they wouldn't be have been Free agent signings, and most likely not be in the Pen's organization.

EDIT: Speaking of both, they just had a nice give and go. Gibbons with the sweet pass and Megna with a nice shot, but saved by the Portland goalie.

EDIT: I agree with Grace's assessment. The Pen's have been the better team, but Portland finished their chances, WBS have not.

Nice PP by the Baby Pen's. Didn't result in a goal, but we got some good scoring chances. Portland goalie with some nice saves tonight.

Morrow is one of the few WBS dmen that can consistently put the puck on the net.

Baby Pen's going on a two man advantage. Morrow get 1st unit PP time. He has looked good.

Ughh.....too many east west attempts through the box. As I am typing this, Dumoulin with the goal. (will rewind) Sweet wrister by Dumoulin as he collapsed down low near the faceoff dot, due to all the open ice on the two man, and he went high left corner.

EDIT: Damn, Gibbons got boarded fairly hard on that one....lots of blood.

EDIT: Goncharov gets 5 and a game for the board on Gibbons.

(where the hell is Zen?)

EDIT: 2-1 and we still have 15 seconds on the previous penalty, so we have a two man for that period of time and on a major after that.

Nothing going right on this 5 minute PP. We get one shot on the major. The same amount as Portland had while killing it.

EDIT: WBS with the early 3rd period goal to tie the game. Mormina with the shot, and the rebound comes back out to him and Joey M. buries it. Sweet goal. 2-2.

EDIT: put game on pause, just getting back to it. Trevor Smith scored, initial shot was from Morrow, I don't think it made it to the net, Smith picks it up and buries it. 3-2 WBS with its first lead of the game.

EDIT: Reese playing a very strong game.

EDIT: What a gutty performance from the Baby Pen's. They get the W, a 3-2 comeback win. They kill a late PP, to secure the victory. Hynes showing a lot of faith in Samuelsson, putting him out there for the PK, and the waning seconds of the game.
Good stuff WBS.

not watching the game, but i like what i'm reading:

Jonathan Bombulie ‏@CVBombulie 5m
Last shift is what WBS needs to do. Dumoulin jumped inti play. Uher-Peters-Payerl muscled puck to blue paint and whacked away.

"The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed defenseman Clark Seymour to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO). "

"The Brockville, Ontario-native was a fifth-round pick (143rd overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft."

What you guys think about this?

Hopefully the Pens organization can make room on the Hornets or Predators team for when they sign Sustr.

He can still go back for an overage junior season after an ATO, I believe, so, good to get him pro experience before that happens.

WBS playing the Bruins affiliate tonight.

Thiessen starting, not sure if that means Zatkoff may need to be back-up for the Pens vs the Isle. Fleury did practice today so who knows.

Gibbons had two 2-on-1's in a row on the pk, didn't score though.

Bennett playing with Thompson and Gibbons I think.

First PP- Reese/Bennett/Kolarik/Smith/Holzapfel

Reese scored on a slapper from the point on the PP, may have been deflected. 1-0, Reese from Holzapfel & Smith.

Gibbons making plays all over the place on the PK.

He beat Alden Hirschfeld pretty convincingly. He was really pumped and high fiving fans from the box.

In all fairness, Alden Hirschfeld might be the nerdiest name I've ever heard, his uniform may or not feature a pocket protector.
