I have been going to Dogs games since their first season (1996) when they went to the Calder Cup Finals and lost to Hershey so I have seen alot of different teams and players come and go and this, by far is the worst team they have ever had.

I hope they do a better job stocking the roster next year with a good mix of young player and 4-5 solid vets up front that have AHL experience that can score goals and 1-2 on the back end.

Don't sign plugs like Stortini and Hagel.

First thing should be to re-sign Tenute to at least an AHL and build off of that in terms of adding more vets.

I still have 10 flex pack tickets and I can't even those away on some nights because this team is so brutal.

BULLDOGS SIGN DEAN OUELLET TO P.T.O.
By: Hamilton Bulldogs
03/21/2013 11:25 AM -

HAMILTON, ONT – Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Bulldogs have signed forward Dean Ouellet to a Professional Try-Out Contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The Bulldogs have also assigned forward Alexander Avtsin to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Ouellet, 25, has played 66 games this season for the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL registering 52 points (24 goals, 28 assists) and 75 penalty minutes ranking first on the team in assists and second in goals and points. The 5’11”, 184-pound forward played four seasons for the University of Moncton from 2008-2012 recording 118 points (49 goals, 69 assists) and 104 penalty minutes in 109 regular season games. Ouellet led the University of Moncton in scoring during the 2010-2011 (30 points) and 2011-2012 (34 points) seasons. The native of Edmunston, New Brunswick spent a total of four seasons playing for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2004-2008 posting 258 points (107 goals, 151 assists) and 292 penalty minutes in 250 regular season games.

52 pts in 66 games in ECHL ??? Is Avtsin that bad, not even worth to be played with Dogs ?

As of right now, the Bulldogs have had 42 different players dress for them in a game. Not including the recent ptos, Vail, or the potential of Kristo.

Is that some kind of record ?

Not even close! I don't know what the record is but Houston used 49 players this year
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...026762013.html

Lake Erie used 55 in 2010-2011

Is there any chance Lefebvre is sacked after this season?

I doubt it. Bergevin really put a lot of emphasis on building a team within the organization. Don't see him sacking one of his first hires that quickly.

I would guess that he'll have a pretty long leash seeing how Gallagher, Dumont and Tinordi have looked so good since called up, and Patteryn looked alright though he a bit out of his element.

I think he has all of next season if the prospects called up keep holding their own, because they've put such an emphasis on Hamilton being a development first team, not a winning team.

They'll definitely want to work on his skating. I wonder how he'll compare to Nattinen's first year in NA.

Shame what's happening with Avtsin. I think the team bought into his hype to early, while being too afraid he'd bolt to the KHL. Hope that he pulls an Emelin where he stays in Russia a few years, and comes back an excellent player.

Or more likely pulls a Trunev and stays in Russia and don't amount to much of anything.

With all of the talent coming out of college surely a few can play in Hamilton and make a difference. The Bulldogs are the face of the Habs prospects and it will take a couple of years before all the draft choices fill the teams roster.Lots of players looking for an opportunity to play and learn to become an NHL player one day.

Bulldogs sign Matt Grassi to a ATO.

Big defender from Michigan State.

I honestly feel bad for Dogs fans this season. When some of them were complaining that the Habs didn't care about them back in the day when Halak was allowed to go to the WC and Price was made #1 I thought they were out to lunch. This season, Habs literally didn't give a crap whether the Dogs win or not.

Neilson and Hagel I think. They went full duplex on the punches for a good five seconds with Hagel's jersey over his head.

Jacques and Stortini fought shortly thereafter. Not nearly as exciting or long however.

One of the Dogs best played games of the season, Tokarski was great, and the defense on the whole was really good tonight. Stejskal continues to show progress. Vail moved well and with good speed, played a safe/smart game. Impressive win against the top team in the AHL, a 1-0 SO by the 30th ranked team in the AHL.

Lone goal scored by Belzile, for what it's worth.

Tokarski was such a steal, better than Desjardins AND significantly younger.

Toskarski 40 save shutout for a 1-0 win versus his former teammates...must feel good.

I'm starting to think he might have a future in this organization. In 10 games:

5-4-0
1.54 GAA
0.951 SV%
3 shutouts
