Rusty Klesla

Looking for a winger who will make less than 2.95 million next season.

D'agostini plus a pick if needed.

Would need to throw redden in for roster reasons.

Greening. Big fast winger. Can play with skilled guys or grinders. With his size and speed seems to leave you wanting more, but he can be an effective player.

Negative on redden, and I think the pick would need to be somewhat significant because unless I'm mistaken I think d'agostini's value is relatively small by comparison to Klesla.

Was going to offer Drew Stafford but it doesn't seem like it'd work money-wise.

That's not a bad offer. Phoenix has some room on cash. Lots of pending UFA's that will likely not be re-signed and OEL only taking home $3 M next year.

I respect you rt, would this be fair?

Or would something around Klesla for Filppula be fair.

Like:

Anykinda interest in Torrey Mitchell? He's been good this season, playing with speed and grit. Doesn't make that much and is a very usable guy in 3rd line. Has been with 4th with the Wild due to chemistry with Rupp/Konopka.

Do you really see the conservative Snow, trading Okposo for a 1 yr of Klesla?

It seems like a good trade, but the Yotes need to get cheaper in real dollars by trading Klesla. If the Yotes can unload someone like Moss as well...

Do the Yotes, last in their division, give up Klesla for the impending ufa Boyes?

Well i dont think they would trade if they are out of the playoffs (same as us) but the OP doesn want salary coming back so if you don't want to give up Okposo because hes signed longer term what else do the Isles have that the Yotes would want? We could really use a crease clearer even if he's a bottom pairing guy.

Snow always says tradeshave to make sense for both the short term and the long term. Moving 24 yr old Okposo for 1 yr of Klesha+ a salary dump, doesn't make sense for the longterm.

Staple, the Newsday beatwriter,is imo the most most credible source for NYI info. He wrote less then two weeks ago, that Snow's gotten plenty of lowball offers for Okposo and he's not interested in them. I'd say 1 yr of Klesha+ a salary dump qualifies as a lowball offer.

I've seen Okposo for Klesla proposals on this board and I've seen Bailey for Klesla proposals on this board. I don't see Snow moving either for 1 yr of Klesha.

Would he move Boyes, an impending ufa? I think that depends entirely on how Boyes' extension talks are going. If Boyes demands too much money or too long a term, I expect he'll be moved by the trade deadline.

Then it comes down to whether the Yotes gm, would want more then a rental for Klesha.

This is just my opinion - I do not want Boyes back.

Why this works for both sides if the Yotes are making a playoff push and the Isles are not..

1) Klesla gives the Isles a year stop gap crease clearing d-man for a year until either Rheinhart or Mayfeild are ready.

2) After the Yotes trade Klesla this opens up a spot for Gormley ( on an ELC) which is an upgrade on defense for them, gives the Yotes 2 million saving next year and Gormley some valuable playoff experience. Boyes helps offensively.

3) Next year ,with that extra 2 million dollars, the Yotes can either put it toward resigning Boyes or another foward in the F/A market.
