Getting tired of the runs at Green. Knew he was going to get smooshed there. Teams are still trying to knock him out of the game.

I was going to post saying maybe Laich should take the Captaincy and let Ovi have the A so he can just go out and be free but games like this show why Ovi is a leader on the ice with his play and doesn't need a locker room voice to justify being a C.

Ovi and Nicky should never have been split up

Some here wonder why Oleksy battles back on guys that go after him

Green HAS to protect himself better there. Late in a game up 4, you cross check the guy. Get the stick and elbows up, bring a tear to Dale's eye. Its a weakness in his game that results in injuries.

Tell you what. If Ovi's linemates had been finishing for him, he'd have a butt load of assists. Mojo and Nicky both finished for Ovi tonight. Two amazing passes.

Pass of the night goes to Nicky on that PP though. That was marvelous.

Anyone have a video of Ovi's hit on Little? CSN's crappy coverage didn't even replay it. Nor did they show what Kane did to Green.

If somebody tries to go for Green he should slash them in the face or rake his skate down their ankles, no one will run at him then and take a cheap shot.

Guy running the camera for CSN was off tonight. Must have been sharing a bottle with Locker during pre-game.

Caps need to reel off 5 straight wins in order to really get into things. Sure they are "only" 5 points out but that also means 6 other teams are still alive too and Caps only have 18 games left.

With a full training camp and 82 game season this is a playoff team IMO.

Totally agreed. Gordie Howe lasted 32 years in professional hockey because nobody wanted to touch him. ****ing tribal-tatted emo doesn't cut it.

I've been saying for years that if Ovi's linemates could consistently finish off his great passes no one would even talk about Crosby and his assists because we all know Ovi is twice the scorer he is.

The amount of fans infront of net from number 8 passes over the years are countless.

i was watching on the Jets feed on GameCenter. their color guy kept blaming Green for "being too casual" at end of play and "not knowing who he was on the ice against, Kane will hit you." what this commentary ignores was that the play was OVER. he had played the puck and made three strides away and was turning away from Kane. there is nothing about this play, period, that was Green's fault. it was a late hit.

that said, it wasn't the hardest hit in the world either. looked worse than it was. if you see the replay, yes Green goes down, but it's not a crushing hit.

at least Kane didn't score. seems like he always does against us. and for those of you who don't like Kane, you have to give him credit at least for his one-punch knockout of Matt Cooke during kane's rookie season. if you've never watched that, YouTube it. it is glorious.

We actually have a chance still. If we win the next 2, we're 3 points below the division spot. Getting Mike Green, Orlov and Hillen back has helped tremendously.

Just saw the highlights now. Good game for the Caps!

Can anyone who watched the full game let me know if MJ was playing in Ribeiro's place on PP1 the entire game?

Impressive win for the Caps. Having the likes of Green, Orlov and Laich back in the line up, you start believing in this team. Decent showing by Binky against Wright.

Green's got it in him though. He can be a dirty ****er. The retaliation against Florida that got him suspended was awesome, even if he hit the wrong guy, but he needs to do something in the moment, rather than after.
