Guys, don't get down. Magic number is still 9 losses. Very doable.

The team played well at ES with a solid forecheck and responsible play in all zones. When the PP wasn't giving up shorties, it looked good. Unfortunately, the disturbing recent trend of giving up shorties showed up again and the PK woes continued. This one game isn't reason to think the season long woes are over, but, it was a much better performance than we've seen since the game at Dallas.

Chance to make the playoffs 22%.

Yes the Preds won but a lot of the teams below Nashville did too. FLA, WASH, BUFF all won. Hell Marty friggin Brodeur scored a goal. It was like the hockey gods were laughing at us all.

Preds are 2pts from a playoff spot. 6pts from #1, 3 pts from #5.

Knowing the Preds they will go on a magical mystery tour of their games, win em all and go to the cup.

or they will play .500 and lock down a 5th or lower pick.

And winners! I'll take it. Beck had a great first, the whole team had a great second, and we survived an okay third.

Atleast it was entertaining to watch. Question: on the no goal for Calgary. Was is called for goalie interference or because their guy was in the crease? Is it a no goal in either situation? There wasn't any interference but there was no doubt their guy was 100% in the crease all the way. If called off for that, then I agree 100%.

from my seat in 205, Josi had a tough game in his own end. SK is soft as a grape. The Spaling line with Clune and Yip had a very good game, spending a lot of time around Kiprusoff (and the one waved off goal around Rinne.) Bartley was very involved, and didn't make me yearn for Scott Hannan. Blum, on the other hand, often makes me yearn for Scott Hannan

Reasonably annoying, though involved, blonde girl (screaming SHOOT IT every time a Pred had the puck in the offensive zone) was clearly not a Martin Erat fan, and mentioned his 4M paycheck 4M times, which caused me to come up with the marketing slogan, "You can't spell ovERrATed without ERAT" but then he had a goal and assist, and I shut the campaign down, despite the inability to shut fan girl's mouth down

All in all, though it may be false hope, just know that last season we, at Staples Center, were pretty happy knowing we'd be saving our playoff money because the Kings were the 11th seed, horrible, and with about 3 weeks to go in the regular season, mercifully cooked. When we crawled, limped and dragged 18,000 fans above ground, into the 8th position at season's end, we lamented that one more time we'd be wasting money on two more games, at inflated playoff prices... Well, money well spent guys ... The season's not over yet and though I don't think this team has the horses to ride roughshod through the West, it really isn't as bad as you think

Go Preds!

Standing in the crease is not illegal. They did away with that rule a decade ago.

They waived it off because they thought the Calgary player impaired Rinne's ability to move freely in his crease. Standing in the crease has nothing to do with it as you can get a goal waived off in the same way by standing outside the crease. Similarly, a goal will be allowed if you are standing in the crease as long as the skater isn't interfering or impairing the goaltender.

Rule 69 – Interference on the Goalkeeper
69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper - This rule is based on the premise
that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the
crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be
allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking
players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances
be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking
player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s
ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; o

I think it did, it kept him from being able to cut off the angle.

I'm not sure if Peks recognized where that puck was heading soon enough to react for any hindrance to have mattered.

Someone wanted a photo of my new costume and look.

No bets sadly. They saw the results of the last bet and ran away.

You're probably right but Tanguay made sure even if he did he wouldn't get the angle.

It was a borderline call, you could argue it either way.

Their 2nd goal should have been too many men on, so, it evens out.

Very nice foursome from Calgary sat in front of us last night.
They were clearly impressed with how active our fans our - right from the opening lineup announcement. I hope their overall Nashville experience was a good one.

Interesting tidbit: their flight from Calgary (probably to Chicago, but I didn't ask) was delayed and they would have missed the connection to Nashville - BUT Kipper was on their flight, so they held the plane for him. Apparently he's a new daddy (a boy) and was flying commercial to meet the team in Nashville. So, congrats to him!
