Calgary edged out Swift Current 6-5 in OT and the Medicine Hat Tigers surprised the red hot Saskatoon Blades 4-1 in the first two games of the WHL playoffs.

I love that the Kings seem more physical this year, We may not be able to score 6-7 goals to bail us out of some of the mistakes, but I do think we have a better team built for a long run. With that being said, I know Kootenay is no slouch, and I thought they came into last year’s playoffs on a bit of a streak too, they played us well last year, considering, on paper it should have been a complete mismatch, after a while you knew the Kings would wake up in every game, I hope they scratch that philosophy this year, and come out a lot more aggressive early in games and establish themselves.

Unfortunately this year I didn't by the playoff pass. Which sucks, but I am still hoping for a long playoff run.
Well it didn't exactly help they lost Wruck, Ewanyk was just getting going and St. Croix and Maxwell decided not to show up for games at a time. The role players and gritty players dug their heels in and carried this team. I hope people aren't expecting an automatic repeat, lots of things had to go right last year especially in the final. Peddle, Pysyk, Pelss, Rachinski all played big, big roles as the heart and soul of the team basically.

Will be interesting to see who replaces that, hopefully Samuelsson can last an entire playoff without getting suspended because they will need him. I'm also expecting a monster performance out of Ewanyk, he seems to raise his play as the intensity goes up. Wruck was one of the few noticeable bright spots in the sweep to Red Deer two years ago so I'm expecting him to play good as well. We'll see.. but they'll need guys like Ewanyk, Wruck, Lowe, Foster and Cheek to be the engine of this team when it turns into a war. Don't know how Lowe is going to respond to the intensity, sometimes he can get too fired up and gets himself in a little discipline trouble. Same goes for Samuelsson, Laxdal needs to sit those two down in particular. I'm also expecting anything St. Croix brings to be a bonus to be quite honest.

This year's team is a little different. We have more scoring spread out throughout the lineup and more depth on d than last year.

What we dont have is a solid fourth line. They are getting there, but arent there yet. Yes we will miss Peddle, Rachinski, Pelss and Pysyk in particular, but other players like Lowe have stepped up.

I think the EC is going to be a lot tougher this year. I dont think Portland is as good as last year, despite their record regular season.

I think Cheek is the guy who really picks it up and emerges as one of the leaders. I got my admission card two days ago and can hardly wait.

I like the signing very much, but most of the people complaining about it is the people have not watched him on a regular basis and are just stat watching.

I will sadly be missing the first two playoff games so go Oil Kings go!

So Sportsnet is only going to show OHL? Some dub love would be great. They could do a double header after that OHL game.

Does Shaw have the playoff rights?

Do you know if Shaw is the rights holder for all the WHL playoffs?

I dont know.

You can watch any game you like on WHL Live, but you have to pay.

If you are wondering if any of the WHL games will be on Sportsnet I would think they would show one or two on a Friday night, but they like to stay out east. Perhaps the production costs are cheaper and there may be a bigger audience?

Moroz may not gave gotten points on them but he has been a solid net presence on 3 goals (maybe only two if he gets credit for tipping in the third). Ewanyk with a goal too.

Are you at the game or is it being broadcasted somewhere?

At the game, it's 9-0 with the 'we want ten' chants in full force, ten to go.

Saskatoon just lost again to the Tigers.

This time it was 3 - 0.

Good thing they get the automatic place in the Mem Cup

Stephane Legault had a 7 point night. Tied for second for WHL playoff record for most points in a single game. Was only one away from tying the record.

He was so close to 8 too.

Looked like he had the goalie at his mercy late in the third when they were going for the 10th goal but got robbed.

That shot in the first by Lowe may have been in? The Kings scored right afterward. Anyone get a really good look at it?

I wouldn't be surprised if the oilers drafted him this year
