And how would you know that? Did BUd tell you this? Come on now. Yours is as much speculation as the fact that some feel Bud felt, as Ziggy said, entitled to a shot at the NHL level.

I'm willing to bet this guy never touches NHL ice.

Could be the next Todd Elik, a journeyman who cemented his career as a high scorer in Europe.

Your worst nightmare would more likely be if the Ducks somehow got this years number one pick and drafted Seth Jones.

What are the chances of him taking Penner's spot in the lineup next season?

He likely would have been called up at some point last season. Now he may never know if he has what it takes to play for a Stanley Cup champ.

If we were on the Kings Roster tonight the score would have been 157-2

Hold my horses here...there are some indications he may be a restricted free agent.

But I don't know if we have the money to compete with a big-time offer from another NHL club.

It appears both he and Moller were given qualifying offers in June 2011

Thought they lose his rights THIS July 1st not the past one? Both him and Moller were qualified are were RFAs when they left. I think the Kings still have his rights until this summer when he's 25 and becomes and UFA.

We don't hold his rights until he's 27?

Not true. He is a restricted free agent, Kings still own his rights.

Yes. Holloway qualifies for Group VI UFA status this year at 25 (2 years early since he does not have enough games for standard UFA status), so it is only this summer he becomes a UFA.

If certain NHL games played criteria are not met, players can be eligible for Group VI UFA status. Holloway obviously has not met them, like G Jeff Zatkoff last year who was a UFA at 25 thanks to that.

Not that simple. He'll be a UFA July 1st and would have to sign a contract with the Kings to remain their property. The trouble is he allegedly wasn't happy that DL didn't offer him a one-way contract and decided to bolt for the SEL. Holloway didn't want to risk making less money in the AHL and decided to take the cash in the SEL. DL also said a couple times that had he stayed he was penciled into a third line role on the Kings and he likely would have at worst been a callup with King and/or Nolan.

After the last two seasons he's had I wouldn't be 100% sure he wants to come back. He's clearly found his niche and is in a position to stay overseas and make a lot of money continueing to do what he's doing. You also have to think that if a team brings him to camp and he doesn't make the team he's going back to Europe rather than the AHL.

I'd be thrilled if DL offers him a one-way deal, one-year deal to get him in camp and see if he sticks on the roster. Questions are; Does DL hold a grudge over what happened when he left? Does Holloway even have an interest in returning to NA at this point? What would it cost a team to get him here?

Curious--what would he waiver situation be like if he were to be qualified by us? Would he have to pass thru waivers to go to the AHL?
