As for Muzzin, I seen his offense translating over to the NHl better, even from when he was in junior. Now granted, I didn't think he'd have 11 points in 24 games, but I did see him being a 25-35 point guy in his prime, assuming he made it.

Roach, I just don't get that vibe. I hope I'm wrong honestly, but as I said, I just see him as more of a stay-at-home type, putting up Sean O'Donnell, Aaron Miller, Matthias Nordstrom type numbers. Granted, I'd love it if he ended up as being a clone of any of those three. Miller seems the most likely to me.
You and I are seeing slightly different things in Roach. I see him developing into more of a PMD than a stay at home type. Not a truly gifted O type but one who will pick up assists as the season goes on. I see his SAH game being 1b if not a secondary priority but he certainly has some of that in his game.

Muzzin is an exact comparison to me as he was a physical D kid with good O skills like Roach. Both at this stage in their development had the skills to go either way but had yet to develop a leaning or direction as to what they would become.

While I agree that Roach will likely end up becoming a more physical D focused D man than a true O focused one he is just like Muzzin at this stage in their respective careers as to the style of game that each of them tried to play (trying to play in Roach's case).

The good news is that we will get to see how things shake out.

Hope you are right, and as always I'll bow to your insight.

I just think if he's a PMD first at the NHL level, it won't work out for him. I just don't see it, but I see a lot of other good qualities to make me think he could be a solid third pairing guy who can use his size and positioning (which is much better this year) to be a good foot soldier.

I think of a Hamrlik type guy. Not great at any one thing, but solid everywhere.

I think we are both seeing the same things only each of us see one thing a little more than the other. Its a matter of opinion on which way he will go. In the end I think we are both going to be a little right in some ways and a slight bit off on others. Either way we both see his potential as being a pretty good prospect with an NHL caliber skill set. That's the good part.

I think you are the closest to right. I would only add that he has the potential to lean one way or the other a little bit (offence or defence). Orienting a little bit on one of the two disciplines. Could be right down the middle too though.

He looked really good again tonight. Scored the OT winner and did a nice job containing Lowry, another kid who will be a very nice player. It bugs the crap out of me that everyone else gets these kids late in the draft and we don't....

Good news but the Kings signed him as free agent, he wasnt even drafted. Unless you meant Adam Lowry.

Great discussion made for a great read on a prospect most fans don't get a chance to see play.
Good to see the staff finding and signing these kids.

Even the Calgary Flames twitter account is a fan of Alex Roach.

We feel your pain, before Lombardi our drafting was nothing to brag about. Feaster has to go IMO, i'd like to see Hextall in Calgary. He'd be great for the organization and we'd have another connect for trading.
