Seriously though I didn't see him tonight. I bet the Devils telecast showed him like they have every game. Doesn't Dave Lewis have a Hitler mustache? Or is it Charlie Chaplin? That dude is ultra creepy looking with that stache.

How many people you think are gonna look at the 18 shots and 7 in the last 2 periods and say we played the trap?! Typical trapping Devils! Marty's stick work has a lot to do with that. I remember doing the math last year and coming up with the team having 2-3 shots less when Marty plays than when Moose plays (Thus upping Moose's save percentage, and sometimes decreasing Marty's despite the shots really not being any harder or easier) and that's pretty significant.

Marty's stick work will usually decrease the shots against per game. He did in the trapping and defensive systems and in the offensive aggressive systems of Sutter and Deboer.
Exactly what I've been saying, and it wasn't to **** on Moose either. Marty's stick work covers up a lot of smudges that our D does, and improves our breakout game. We have really missed his stick alone, but his ability to make those big saves in critical moments was missed too.

Despite an onslaught he did not allow them to score first, and we got a bounce then the game was ours. Moose is a fine backup, but this team really does rise and fall with Brodeur.

I also believe he may play beyond his current contract, barring a major injury or him regressing extremely quickly next year. I don't see Moose doing it though, I'd imagine he will retire after his contract expires. So maybe Marty splits time with Wedge in 2 years? I'd be ok with that. Wedge can hold the fort until Marty's son is ready.

Our net is now the Iron Throne and by right it will always belong to a Brodeur!!!!

I think Moose might play after next year too, but I can see Lou giving his ''We decided to give a younga playa in au awganization a chance to play that role'' comment when asked if Hedberg will be brought back. Hedberg has been the best pure backup in the league the last two seasons before this and I think he still can be. When I say best pure backup though that means strictly backup. Not a backup who's more than capable of playing just as high level if he's asked to start more than a couple games in a row, or covered for an injured starter. Just a guy who can come off the bench every week, and give a great game. Much like his first 3 of the season showed.

Not sure we draft Anthony Brodeur though, but we'll find out this year! Also I hope we do the monster mash on that cyborg Markstrom on Saturday night!

what i loved the most was marty claiming in his book that he WOULD score another. as time went on, and the trapezoid restricted goalies, i thought no way. but he did it..

o jeepers, easily. Moose has cost this team several points let alone just getting beat normally in some games. Hopefully Marty can play well for the majority of the stretch and bail us out.

Just to let everyone know... I was at the Zubrus/Loktionov signing at Park East. After they were done signing they sat down and ate, that's right, a gigantic boat of sushi. The nickname is validated.... .AND Loktionov's girlfriend is quite good looking.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Sounds like CAR G Dan Ellis will miss a week or two with a leg laceration suffered last night. Tough run for CAR G's.

on the replay you can see his right leg kicks back hard and the heel of his skate cuts him. Those goalie skates have quite the point on them too.

Easily his best game of the season last night. Just re-watched the last 2 periods, Trazmania played like a beast. Jeez, him heating up at the right time would be priceless.

@MSmithCanes

Dan Ellis is limping around RCI. Said he has about 17 stitches. Cut just missed his MCL, which obviously could have made matters worse.
Damnnnnnn. Now that's a cut.
