I hate to gravedig, but I wanted to share that I knew Potter when we were growing up in the Lansing area, and he was never an intelligent guy. I imagine that's reflected in his on-ice play.

According to our mighty GM the emergence of Corey Potter was one of the things that made Tom Gilbert expendable

He wasn't bad. If I'm honest, he's been better than Fistric lately.

I'm not suprised. Corey Potter is the latest scapegoating victim by Oiler fans. Nick Schultz is -9, Ryan Whitney is -10 and Justin Schultz is team worst -11 yet Potter (at -3) is somehow a pylon, or "not an intelligent guy". I imagine we're going to start hearing stories of how he beat up dogs too.

I call it the "Cory Cross" effect.

One time I was taking my dog for a walk and Potter popped out of nowhere and started beating it brutally. It was terrible. Horcoff and Dubnyk sat in the background watching and laughing maniacally.

Am i forgetting any of our other scapegoats?

Oh right, and Kreuger coached the entire ordeal.

There is no Corey Power Potter Play conundrum. He's a highly suspect defenseman on a team with a poor blue line. He should be replaced as soon as is humanly possible.

Well, that explains why he had Lennert Petrell come in to throw the last punch instead of Nail Yakupov.

Ahhh yes the stats guys who bring out such a useful stat like +/-.

Tell me why Nashville was pissed at Kostisyn after that Oiler game, I mean he got off the ice in time and didn't take a minus. Like jesus what the hell is Trotz doing? A clown like Legwand who took a minus 2 on the night should have been the guy benched.

True. Potter had the worst start (probably the impetus for the thread) but every dman has looked thoroughly overmatched for most of the season.
