Anyone see the goal that Brodeur was credited with tonight? Carolina pulled Ellis on a delayed whistle and put it in their own net after Brodeur made a save

When you see Nash circle around to look at Kopecky, it almost looks like he's worried about him as if he did it on accident... but no way he did something like that on accident. Only thing I can think of is that maybe he got a little too amped up and just spaced out mentally and went full retard when he went to hit him. I don't think Nash has ever really been accused of being dirty.

That's not to say I don't think he should be suspended, he absolutely should for 2-3 games...

While he may of embellished a bit, Edler absolutely smoked him.

But, imo, Goalies shouldn't be allowed to step in front of players like that, or they should be free game.

I don't even think he really embellished. Edler is 6-3 220 and coming with speed, and throws a shoulder into Smith's chest.

And I agree that Smith should be free game in a situation like that when there is a battle for the puck. If he doesn't want to get it, then stay in goal.

I don't know if you can allow that, goalies will be getting killed. You either have to have a rule saying goalies can't go behind the net or keep the current rule where they are not fair game. That was 1,000 times worse than what Shaw did.

Pretty happy to see Smith get crushed, even if it is a Nuck to do it. Then I can just laugh at them because they were discussing Cam Barker on their 4th line due to injuries...

If you allow it, goalies will stop stepping in front of players racing for the puck. Or, if a goalie does that, call interference on the goalie.

Smith was trying to play the puck and whiffed on it. Plus the entire point of letting goalies go behind the net is to help defenseman so they don't get killed.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 1m
NYR and FLA have been told by NHL there will be no supplementary discipline for Rick Nash's hit on Tomas Kopecky.

Edler hardly smoked him. He was cruising around the net and tried to avoid Smith at the last second. Smith as always being the total and complete ******* he is flailed around and made a fool of himself.

Here is how supplemental discipline works.

Star hits everyday player = no suspension

Star hits star = small suspension

Grinder hits star = huge suspension

I did not think the Edler hit was that bad. He got 5 minutes and that should be it. Smith is a bit of a queen with all the acting he does.

It's amazing. I feel like I've said "they can't possibly get any worse" more times than I can count. Zero credibility, whatsoever. It blows my mind Nash isn't getting anything for that hit. Blows my mind.

Don't know if there is any truth to it but here's an interesting rumour:
Kipper to Leafs for Kulemin... then Kulemin and Iginla to L.A. for Bernier and a 1st in 2014 and a 2nd in 2015.
