What i would like to know from the Paternos is why about the time of the intial report that Sandusky went from heir apparent at a football factory to never working in the ame again.

If the Paternos spent a quarter of the effort in protecting children as they have protecting Joe's image, they wouldn't be in this situation.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- NBC plans to air excerpts of jailhouse interviews with former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky next week, which his lawyer said were given to a documentary filmmaker working on a defense of Joe Paterno.

The network said in the segment, to be broadcast Monday on the ''Today'' show, the convicted sex offender will give his account of the encounters that landed him in prison and discuss his former boss, who was accused in a university-funded investigation of covering up allegations against Sandusky in a bid to preserve the football program's reputation.

Sandusky defense lawyer Norris Gelman said Friday that John Ziegler interviewed Sandusky over the phone and perhaps in person in recent weeks. Ziegler did not respond to a call and email from the AP, but told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg he would share taped excerpts on the program.

Paternos suing NCAA over Freeh Report

Just take your punishment instead of acting all naive like Paterno was some sort of legend. He wasn't.

This type of revisionist history is dangerous

It really is true, I have worked with a few PSU alums over the years, and it's truly amazing how they are all just so delusional and unwilling to admit any blame by anyone for the grotesque things that went on there. Very smart, family people with children themselves just refuse to take off the blue and white blinders and see what really happened and who was at fault for it.

They really should have just gutted the entire football program for atleast 2-3 years.

I just hope that this lawsuit accidentally results in even more dirt being discovered on Paterno and Penn State, necessitating even greater sanctions.

This has become utterly pathetic.

Joe enabled a child molester. Dozens of kids were hurt as a direct consequence of his actions. Deal with it. Perhaps the family should start trying to make amends to the victims instead of deifying Joe.

At this point, I am beginning to hope that the family has their assets seized to pay for civil suit awards to the victims. Be a much better use of their money then paying for "nuh-uh" reports and BS lawsuits.

The Paternos really need to get over it and move on. The longer it drags on the worse it all gets.

Well, yeah.... it is a huge money maker and that's especially the case for the flagship university of a state. College basketball and football coaches are the highest paid public employees in most states, too. Not to mention hugely popular, so it's an easy political move to try to come to the team's aid.

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn State's ex-president and two former top school administrators were ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges accusing them of a cover-up in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Prosecutors showed enough evidence during a two-day preliminary hearing to warrant a full criminal court trial for ex-President Graham Spanier, former vice president Gary Schultz and ex-athletic director Tim Curley, Judge William Wenner concluded.

Wenner called it "a tragic day for Penn State University."

State prosecutors allege that the three men failed to tell police about sexual abuse allegations involving Sandusky and then tried to cover up what they knew about it.

I know we should blame JOE PA and the ADMINISTRATION many of which no longer EXIST there anymore and I know the SCHOOL shouldn't pay

But how can you impose such a strict penalty for such a strict egregious offense and then backtrack?

Penn State is facing NO PENALTY for what they did and it makes me damn sick. They got a great coach. They had a great season. The only penalty they're suffering from is lack of bowl games. That's it. Give them back all their scholarships!

This penalty is a JOKE. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Penn State was not affected at all by them.

Stupid NCAA makes me SICK
