Saying Crosby doesn't work well with creative players is about as wrong as you can get. People are just too used to him playing with pluggers to remember what he and Hossa looked like together.
I remember it quite well as I have watched nearly every Penguins game every year dating back to 1990. He has averaged more PPG with Kunitz and Dupuis than he ever did with Hossa (including the 12 regular season games prior to the playoffs). Maybe Crosby has progressed as a player, but to say that was when he looked "his best" is a definite stretch.

Production/Cups are all I care about.

Higher PPG without Hossa. Cup without Hossa. Just as dangerous without Hossa.

That is very true.

Not really a fan of either team, but I'm hoping for Iggy to the Pens which will lead to a cup. Unless, the Leafs get in the way. Leafs/Pens would make a good playoff series.

I feel like it would be a very quick series, especially if Iginla was on the Pens, though if Kipper was on Toronto...

Iggy to the Pens has been a long time coming. I expect to see it happen.

In the bargain bin I could see Ott and Higgins as a pretty decent couple of pickups for the pens.

They'd lose even more quickly? Kipper has been the worst starter in the league this year. The guy has a .869 save percentage. That's just brutal. Reimer's save percentage is .916. That means the Leafs would let in over 1 goal per game more with Kipper than without.

Kipper has had one good year in the past 3 and 2 good years in the past 6. I am really not a fan at this point. He has been well below replacement level this year.

I'll be ordering an Iginla jersey for whatever team picks him up... Glad it's not going to be the nucks. (I would never purchase that).

Pens, Bruins, Kings, etc would be cool.

Purchase them all early like Luongo Jerseys, then you can't be let down.

Maybe, maybe not. Toronto tends to play extremely well against Pitts for whatever reason.

I'm sure I'll get roasted by Pens fans, but what about a package deal around Iggy+Gio.

Gio as Letang's longterm partner. I think Despres would be on the table for him.

Iggy as a rental. Maatta+1st+TK. If he's willing to resign. Maybe Pouliot instead of Maatta.

Dupuis-Sid-Iggy
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Bennett
Glass-Vitale-Adams

Orpik/Martin
Gio/Letang
Nisky/Engelland
Eaton
Bortuzzo

So the bolded for the 2 of them..its ok. Honestly not thrilled about it, but lots of potential there.

Problem is if Calgary moves both of those guys it means Bouw is staying and we need to get a forward prospect for one or the other...

You wouldn't rather have two high end D assets? You can use the 1st to draft a forward and have TK be a reclamation project.

My understanding is Calgary's team needs are on defense and center longterm.

It's been mentioned several times that Subban would hold little to no value to the Flames since we are pretty packed with goalie prospects already.

I almost thought you were talking about PK. I'm so glad I read the rest of the quote.

Exactly, so if we move them both we would want a D and a C prospect most likely.

Nothing wrong with your proposal, id seriously consider it. I would just also consider the fact it eliminates our chance to trade for a C prospect.

Jeffrey is an NHL caliber 3C right now. Switch him with TK if you like. Or we could offer Blueger.

Flames would be looking for someone with top-6 upside, unfortunately.

i hope so... lol

if Kennedy isn't someone who could benefit from a change of scenery, i don't know who is.

EDIT: according to the Pens' twitter account:

Quote:
BREAKING: Tyler Kennedy will not be in the lineup tonight vs. #Isles due to illness #Pens
doesn't look like a trade :\
