Has Kennedy been bad lately, as in, is there any reason for him to be scratched besides a trade?

Edit: nvm, he's sick!

Kennedy's ill, that's why he's not playing.

Yes, but that's neither here nor there as he is sick.

As I live near Calgary, I was listening to the Fan 960 earlier today and the host of their afternoon show was speculating these next two games (Columbus and St. Louis) could be Iginla's last as a Flame and he will be dealt before they play the Blackhawks. No teams were suggested...just thought I'd pass it along.

Probably just shooting opinions back and forth but I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually the case.

I anticipate there are gonna be some disappointed Flames fans if Iginla is traded.
it is the nature of a fanbase, they inflate their own hopes but what ends up reality is much different

young roster prospect and conditional pick(s) will probably end up being the deal

Talked to scouts/execs/agents last few days. Message B's sending out to teams @SubbZero30 and @RSpooner2376 are "untouchables" #bruinstalk

Joe Haggerty ‏@HackswithHaggs 2h
But teams have definitely asked about both of them in trade talks
Source.

Interesting to see that Khokhlachev isn't on the speculated untouchable list. Khokhlachev would be a very good target for the Flames.

Edit: Don't know why I put down Subban twice. Fixed it now.

Edit 2: Subban off the table would only be a boon for the Flames. Would prevent them from making a big mistake.

Maybe Crosby has progressed as a player, but to say that was when he looked "his best" is a definite stretch.

Production/Cups are all I care about.

Higher PPG without Hossa. Cup without Hossa. Just as dangerous without Hossa.
Hossa never played a full season with Crosby, so there is no way to compare any true stats.

He and Hossa took until the second round of the playoffs until they found their chemistry, so you can't base anything off the 12 games of the regular season and point production drops in the playoffs. Anyone who watched those two play together from round two on could see Crosby and Hossa were on another level together.

Trying to say Crosby doesn't work well with creative players has to be one of the most asinine arguments I have ever read on here.

The best player in the world, doesn't work well with creative players...

Ok...

Totally plausible.

I see this response from CAL fans over and again.

The question is not if Flames already have goalie prospects -- but rather, if acquired would Subban instantly be the best among them?

If yes, then he's in play and of sincere interest to Feaster.

I'd rather target an area of need, as Calgary is in no need of goaltending prospects.

Gillies was named Hockey East's Rookie of the Year.
Brossoit and Ramo both playing great in their respective leagues
Not to mention Ortio improving while getting tons of starts in the SM-liiga

Not saying Subban isn't a great prospect, cause he's playing great in Belleville but we simply don't have a need for him. If Iginla is traded, I suspect Feaster will target a return that will drastically improve our cupboard in an are we're lacking - not just kind-of-sort-of improve an area we're not.

None of them have Subban's pedigree or potential. If I was a Flames fan, I would be ecstatic if the return included M Subban.

As an actual Flames fan, I'd imagine most of us would be happier getting a prospect with similar 'pedigree or potential' playing center or defense.

It's a simple matter of value relative to needs. Flames are very weak in C, D, and RW. They're relatively strong on LW and G.

And given just how much of a crapshoot developing goalies are, the Flames trading away one of their most valuable assets for unknown that also happens to be a redundant piece would constitute absolutely terrible asset management.

Subban may have a higher chance than anyone of them in turning out but I will take my chances with the 4 we currently have that have all had a lot of success recently then trade for Subban it makes no sense.

I'm more than happy with the goaltending prospects Calgary has piled up. You can talk about pedigree or potential for as long as you want, but it honestly means nothing until they crack the NHL and perform.
