Time for a Farm system Overhaul

After a season like this one the Flyers are having in 2012-13 where injuries are constantly occuring and the team is abyssmal in all 3 categories, offense, defense, and goaltending I say its time for a farm system reboot. As I already pointed out the Flyers have no Defense this year plus they have a lot of aging players on the blueline with lots of injuries to boot. A strong Farm system would help counter these problems the team is facing. The Phantoms are stocked with raw long shot players with 3rd line potential at best. They are a lot of undrafted players with a few low round pick players involved. Most of them will only aspire to be depth players in their careers. If the Flyers had a decent farm system they wouldn't have to worry about trading young top notch NHL talent all the time to fix one problem on another part of the roster. They need an overhaul so they can bring up young talent to play and help offensively when things are not clicking on that side of the puck either. They need a gameplan to build their system for the future instead of taking up roster spots with players that may never be full time NHL players.

Well I guess you are referring to trading Van Useless for help on defense, as if a good farm system would produce talent like Schenn and we could have kept Van Useless. There is only so much talent out there. For the most part, impact players break into the NHL very quickly and there isn't much need for AHL development. Depth players can roast in the AHL for a while but that's not the reason the Flyers are struggling.
