But there isn't. Hungarian born kid, Hungarian parents, played hockey in Hungary then moved to Sweden and has dual Hungarian/Swedish citizenship. IIHF ruled him ineligible to play for Hungary at last years U18 tournaent.

He's certainly more Hungarian than the Perlini's are British. So if they didn't let him play, I don't see why Brendan would be allowed to play.

Yeah, but there's one of many flaws with the IIHF rules, the 12 years old rule is completely retarded

Scott Conway moved to NA in 2009 so he woulda been 14, according to this anyway:

I wasn't sure about Conway, the most recent evidence I found of him playing here was his U13 season, maybe I missed something

I still think we would have heard something last year when he was named to the GB U18 preliminary roster though

Also how does this work considering Liam Stewart lol

He's never stepped on GB ice and I don't think he was even born in GB, but IIHF is allowing him to play for GB

He was given special dispensation, I believe the reasoning was because he wasn't eligible to play for any country at all. He was a citizen of the UK and New Zealand, but played all of his hockey in the USA, so they let him choose which country.

I think they go every year

All the England teams are away right now, U16 in Holland, the U14's are in Czech Republic

Here's the tournament page for the U16's http://www.chrisverwijst.nl/index.ph...274&Itemid=298 the Mannheim Jung Adler team is basically team Germany, lol

Not trying to be a dick but if he's not eligible to play for us then there's no point having the whole thread about him.

I spoke to my friend today who played juniors with him and he confirmed he was 12 when he went back to Canada.

I would agree he is more British than guys like Rod Sarich and Corey Neilson but the IIHF doesn't.

You are a dick.

even if he isn't considered British by IIHF standards, he's one of the best BRITISH TRAINED prospects in a long long time. Can't deny the British trained bit. He played there longer then he did in Canada

Still, you don't need to update us every time he sits on the toilet

Every point. He has 15 points all season and a couple multi-point games. If he's only sat on the toilet 12-13 times all year I wouldn't want to be the guy to enter the washroom after him

Not like I'm distracting people from a riveting conversation in here

So since Perlini is bounced from OHL playoffs, I have to talk about Joseph Lewis

He has 22pts in 23 games according to EP - ye they updated him while that german database hasn't updated him in a while. Also noticed EP gave him Italian nationality? Anyway he's 16th in scoring among U21 players. Think he can move up the German ranks? I remember there being some questions about that before

Yeah I already spoke about this before, it looks like his team signed a new import but in that league they're only allowed to dress 2 per game, so Joey has been a healthy scratch for the playoffs. I think it will be difficult to move up due to being an import, teams look for imports to be their best players so it's unlikely a Bundesliga team would sign him. I think in the DEL you're not an import if you are an EU citizen? I could be wrong there, but it might explain the Italian passport. He would probably have to spend a few more years in the Oberliga and keep improving.

May not have represented GB but he's definitely eligible, BRETT Perlini played his first AHL game with Lake Erie yesterday against the Toronto Marlies. He's on loan with them for the remainder of the season. He didn't record anything, no hits, shots, pims, points but still good to see he's in the AHL for a few games

I'm trying to dig for more information about William Attwell. He's really small but those hands... those hands!

All I found was he played for Milton Keynes U12 in 2007-08 for 2 games, posted 7 points & 20 pims but then he seemingly disappears. I know he's at PEAC (A school that a lot of elite GTHL players have gone to, examples Connor McDavid, Jordan Subban off the top of my head) but I was trying to figure out if he played any more U12/U14/U16 in GB

Scott Conway had 3 goals and an assist in an 8-1 win in the NAHL playoffs with the Texas Tornado's. That game clinched the series.

Curious to see if he gets picked up by a USHL team next year, in the draft or just picking him up.
