Just for fun? Let's make it a blockbuster then! :
Stastny,C
Elliott,RD [currently being showcased?]

for

Eller,C
Tinordi,LD [currently being showcased?]
1st

I found the timing with the Elliott call-up to be a little surprising especially considering that SoB had actually been one of our better D-men, that's not saying much, I know. While it could also just be Sacco playing head games, very likely, it could also be a showcasing kind of situation.

Anyways, my actual preference is to hold on to Staz and see how everything shakes out after this season and go from there.
I know it was your gut feeling only , but that's usually better than a lot of journalists from over here .

As for the trade , i'm still not sold on Eller but your trade looks fine , i would be temping to say yes to it . I know that the Habs are really high on Tinordi and for good reason, he showed a lot of progress this year . I believe that he will will make the roster next year , right out of traning camp .

Easy there mister over reaction. Even during the worst season of his career our #2 C at best, Paul Stastny, was a top 30 scorer for centers while bringing a strong two way game and faceoff percentage.

In saying this, I doubt TO fans think that would be a very good deal.
Except even in his best season, playing next to a marvelous goal scorer, Kessel, in a wide open system, Bozak still couldn't match the production staz had under sacco playing much of the season with David Jones, Kobasew, Lindstrom and similar crap. So what makes you think going to a worse environment would get Bozak to produce more than he ever has before?

I know coaches coach and GMs gm, but if Avs were looking to move Stastny they aren't doing much to pump up his value.

David Jones, 39% offensive zone starts and facing the toughest opposition. He got to play with Landeskog for a dozen games but that's pretty much all in the way of throwing him a bone.

He's for all intents and purposes used as our shutdown center. It's tough shopping a $6.6M guy based on that.

Guys, would you do this:
Noesen + Bishop + 2013 1st + Methot + Michalek for Landeskog?

I don't think there is any realistic trade for Landeskog to be made.

Landeskog is our captain , him and Duchene will probably be the face of this franchise for many years to come .

No way. Landeskog is untouchable. We wouldn't have named him captain if we had any thought of trading him. Basically there are 3 players on the Avs I view as untouchable; Landeskog, Duchene and Varlamov.

Pretty much could craft a trade based around any player on our roster not mentioned above.

not bad. he's small but some nice talent and if all else fails he can put up points in the AHL for two more years.

Landeskog is probably the untouchable of all untouchable Avs.

Nice to see Agozzino get drafted, he is as gritty as Gallagher, so maybe NHL is a shot?!

Sorry it's just that the trade for Landeskog was proposed in our thread and it disturbed us all because we gave up an insane amount for a player who means too much for the Avs.

I remember the good ole' days when coaches used to GM and make trades and then would end up getting traded for 1st round picks.

I've scanned this a while back and wanted to post it for you guys as it gives some good insight into this franchises' past. I wanted to put it in it's own thread but Freudian set me up nicely there. hehe

We are at like 47 to 49 players signed with Meurs being the most recent.

Joel Chouinard: Gone
Mike Connolly: Gone
Dillon Donnelly: UFA
Cameron Gaunce: ??????
Milan Hejduk: Retired
Chuck Kobasew: ?????? (I would like him re-signed)
Brad Malone: Re-signed
Joachim Nermark: UFA
Ryan O'Byrne: ??????? (I would like him traded)
Thomas Pock: Gone
Sean Sullivan: Gone
Bill Thomas: Re-signed
David Van der Gulik: ?????? (I would like him re-signed)
Geoff Walker: Gone
Luke Walker: ?????? (I would like him re-signed)

Wildcard: Condon

The real question is, does Parshin & Holos count against the 50 player limit?

You sure? I remember reading that we hold Parshin and Holos rights permanently.

Parishin with the Avs is in the same boat as Perezhogin with the Habs and as someone on the Habs board explained it a while ago Parishin/Perez don't count against our contract totals.

A. Landeskog is not going anywhere.

B. None of those pieces are enticing for us in a trade like this.

Alright thanks. Because how I read it was, if they wanted to come back to the NHL the only team he could back to is Colorado, except if we decided relinquish their rights or trade them. Actually while writing this I realize, wouldn't they have to go through waivers first???????

I just didn't know if they count against the player limit.
