They better change it soon.

I couldn't watch last nights game and I got excited when I saw two SHG but then I saw 3-4 PP goals and I was so pissed

I'm only annoyed by the box score because it's extending into player stats and team stats on the website. Like, it says Kadri/Grabo both have SHG on the season now. And our PK stats have dropped significantly cause of it.

Look at the Habs last season. Heck, even Vancouver missed the playoffs with Luongo in his prime.

Goaltending isnt the problem. its the five guys in front of him who take 10 minutes off every game.
That's my biggest concern right there. The constant collapses for extended periods of time. They gotta find a way to settle things down when it starts happening, take a timeout or something.

Toronto has a few problems and I would have to say that goal and a top defenceman are high on the list. Reimer is a very good backup but his rebound control is getting worse, his glove hand is sub par and how he handles the puck sends shivers down everyone's spine. I can't count last night how many long durations of the puck in our own end from his lack of moving the puck. He seems to get lost where the puck is on him after a save and gives up poor rebounds. I like the guy but to give up the game winner in the shoot out to Ott after his performance last night is ridiculous.

I'm not on the bandwagon to get Luongo and certainly not for the asking price but maybe in the summer a guy like Smith or maybe someone else, maybe Lou can be had for nothing than.

We need another minute eating d-man, Boumeester would help quite a bit I believe.

Any word on Komarov's injury? Or did he come back after?

We were suppose to be out of a playoff spot by this past Wednesday.

Maybe, we can continue to hang in with at least 1 point against Boston.

I agree, although, I think we need 2 top defensemen! Phaneau needs to play with less pressure, less minutes in 2nd pairing scenario.

I think we also need to add a 1a goalie and use Reimer in a 1b role. Trade Scrivens plus to get the 1a or wait and sign someone in the off season.

Bouwmeester isn't good enough to be a 1a D on the Leafs IMHO. If we had a legitmate 1a D already, I'd be ready to give Phaneuf, or Bouwmeester, a try at 1b D position. A Weber/Suter type combination is what is really needed as our top pairing D IMHO.

Luongo, and especially his contract, should be avoided like the plague!!!

No he doesn't, Dion Phaneuf just needs a legitimate top pairing defenseman by his side. Someone who plays the same minutes as him, can play the PK, PP, ES and actually gain some chemistry and a trust dynamic alongside Phaneuf.

You think it's easy to play 26+ minutes every night with a rotation of different, often sub-par defenseman, against the oppositions very best? Give Phaneuf a Ryan Suter, Dan Hamhuis, or Rob Scuderi -- A responsible minute eating two-way defenseman who Phaneuf isn't expected to carry, and watch him flourish.

The sad thing is the Leafs are in control of their own fate currently, the teams below them really aren't playing that good either. We have 3 wins in our past 10 and are still in 6th spot, however if they keep this BS up they will find themselves taking quite the tumble out of the playoff race.

This right here is the winner. Exactly our biggest need right now.

The reason I said Boumeester is because he is attainable. The two you mentioned are not, nor will ever be attainable. Finding guys that can eat 20 minutes + a game is tough and J-Bo can do that. We need to stop looking around the league at the best players at positions and say that is what we need because we don't. We have Gardiner and we have Reilly which are excellent young d-men, now we need minute eaters. Just regular guys, nothing fancy.

Only this isn't a sinking ship, the team has played well enough to win more than they've lost these past 8 games and that's where a real #1 makes his mark with key saves at key moments to get the wins.

Play for 60 minutes is a popular thing to say in here and I wonder if people take that as play mistake free hockey for 60 minutes cause if that's the case we're expecting the impossible from the group in front of the goalies.

Mistakes will happen it's inevitable that's why there's goalies to make the save at key moments of a game more times than not. That's what a #1 goalie does to be a #1 not just make routine saves. Every game of hockey rather the Leafs are playing or not has momentum changes. This is once again where a real #1 makes his mark on the game when the other team is pressing.

The Leafs these past 8 games have not gotten #1 caliber goaltending, they've received mediocre goaltending that has not stepped up and do there part when mistakes happen and has not stepped up when the other team has momentum thus they're record as of late, it's as simple as that.

Switch goalies last night between the two teams and the Leafs walk away with a blow out victory and you know it.

How do you know that? Calgary has him locked up for beyond this year, do you have facts to back this up that he's available? Not just that he has a cap hit of $6.7M next year, and with the cap going down to $64M next season it makes it VERY hard to bring him on. This is the problem I have with leaf fans "oh so and so is available, lets get him", when really there are so many variables to factor in, trading for a player is just not that simple.

This is a fair point, to a certain extent. I hate that you honestly never know which Leaf team you're going to see any given night, any given period, any given stretch. We just play different hockey all the time.

I'm a huge Reimer supporter but I thought he had a somewhat poor game last night. Our team made mistakes and they scored on every single one of them. Their team made mistakes and Miller came up huge. That can sometimes be the difference in a game.

I thought the first goal (where Reimer froze with a huge 5 hole gap, I realize Ennis had time but Reimer just presented that shot) and the final Buffalo goal were on the weaker side of things. However, Reimer gave us an amazing chance to finish that game in the shootout and our forwards couldn't beat Miller.

It was pretty heartbreaking loss considering we had 2 goal leads twice and it's easy to blame goaltending, but to completely absolve goaltending in that game I would say is just as silly as the former.

We lucked out last night with the Jets, Islanders, Rangers, Hurricanes and Senators all losing. So with the OTL, We actually moved ahead a point. The Devils gained 2 points but are still behind us and we are lucky that wasn't a 3 point game. Hopefully we keep our improved play against the Bruins up and with Chara assigned to Kessel, it will allow Kadri a better opportunity to shine.

Still getting a kick out of some silly BUF fans saying Kaleta's a good fighter who CAN tangle with the best of them, but he just didn't WANT to. Yea sure. I have a Ferrari F40 sitting in my garage. I just don't want to show it
