Yes, I believe it was during an AFL labor dispute? They were in Florida.

Thoughts? It's weird to see him in Steeler uniform if that happens.
That is really interesting. I would like him on our team, I don't believe the Steelers are in a rebuild and they want to get back to the Super Bowl, Urlacher would certainly help them do that more than Larry Foote.

Will they have additional 5 millions for release Colon on June?

It's odd to hear about Urlacher especially with Timmons and Foote. Only thing it makes sense if Timmons moves to outside. He hadn't play well there before.

Yeah, he's easily an upgrade over Foote. The problem is what to do Foote? Cut him? That seems cold after he just signed with us. He won't be happy if he becomes a backup to Urlacher.

Yeah, Colon's release frees another 5 million or so June 1st but it will cost around a little over 4 million to sign the draft picks. Steelers likely have around 2 million to spend right now and maybe as much as 2.5m - 3 million to spend after June 1st.

He could still contribute if you don't play him all 3 downs, but like you said I think he'll want way more money than we can offer.

I looked at the numbers and Foote makes 1.5m this year. It wouldn't be that bad to have him as a backup at that number. He may be pissed about being a backup though. He can be released after next year with a $666,666 dead money charge against the cap. No idea what it would be if they cut him this year but I don't think they will even if they sign Urlacher which I doubt they do anyway but we'll see.

The USA-Costa Rica World Cup qualifier is being played in Denver...in March.

Shockingly it's near-whiteout conditions. That's one way to take Costa Rica out of their element.

Urlacher has said he "might" take 2 million elsewhere. How good is he anymore, though?

I think Foote would understand the Steelers wanting Urlacher to start over him if we signed him. The Steelers are pretty respectful to their players so if they sign him, I'm sure they would ask Foote if he would want to be traded if he doesn't want to be a 2nd string.

Apparently he was close to signing with the Cardinals, maybe a trade for a pick.

Damn I forgot about the game! I've been playing FIFA all this time and could have been watching, thanks for the reminder!

You have to give Costa Rica props there...most teams down 1-0 in those conditions would be looking for a way to get out of the game (and one was there for the taking), but they wanted to finish the game.

Didn't work out for them, but I admire their desire to finish what they started. Also huge props to the crew in Denver for getting the field conditions into playable condition somehow. The refs made a mistake by having the game played, but it's next to impossible to re-schedule qualifiers so I understand why.

The decision to put a game in Denver at this time of the season is...weird...but then again we have a huge game coming up at Estadia Azteca (altitude: 7,200 feet) on Tuesday so I'm assuming the altitude had everything to do with it.

Oh great call, I hadn't thought about that factor!

It'd definitely be a move to have Timmons move outside. It's a stopgap, and an emergency move, if anything, IMO.

Jordan Jefferson from LSU is the Power QB this season. Yeah, the kid who was facing 2nd degree felony battery at LSU.

Power lost tonight 63-44 to Utah.

Ben Howland is out as head coach of the UCLA men's basketball team, a source confirmed Saturday to FOX Sports' Marques Johnson.

The announcement could come as soon as Sunday, according to several reports. However, UCLA released this statement Saturday night: "Contrary to multiple media reports this evening, UCLA has not fired men’s basketball coach Ben Howland."

The sixth-seeded Bruins were blown out in an upset loss in the NCAA tournament on Friday night by 11th-seeded Minnesota, 83-63.

I didn't really see it as an upset, Minnesota>UCLA.

Gonzaga losing last night should not surprise anyone.

Wichita State is very good team. People said Pitt should beat them handily in second round. They have no clue how good they are. I could see them advance to regional final with OSU/Arizona.
