I watched the Caps/Jets game, and Ovie is really turning his season around. Oates seems like he really could be a good coach, and seems to be pushing Ovie to finally mature as a player, which was needed....

Anyways, man I wish we had someone on our team that could pick a corner like he did on his goal...so pretty. Demo or Gabby would do it, but we haven't had anyone who could nail a shot like that in years.

I think the Sharks would be better off in the long run if they packed it in this season and blew it up. Trade Thornton, Marleau and Boyle at the deadline to get some good young players or draft picks, then build around a 1-2 center combo in Couture and Pavelski, then Burns, Braun and Demers on the D.

If Iginla can't be had by Pittsburgh, I could see Marleau going over there. He's signed through next season, and would make a fantastic winger for Pittsburgh. They probably would not want any of the defender prospects. Maybe like a 1st + TK + lower level prospect.

Boyle back to Tampa Bay for a potential run by them. Get a 1st + Connolly + another forward prospect. Thornton to Toronto for some stuff.

I think they could definitely do it if they wanted, but I doubt they will. Having a top-6 that had Couture, Pavelski, and Havlat as the top three players is kind of scary, IMO.

Which is why we need to keep winning right now, because they've got some guys hurt. They've taken advantage of us numerous times when we've had injury bugs (refer to last season), so we need to do the same to them before they get healthy.

I think they play the Avs tomorrow night, so we really need to hope they miss out on 2 points. A big reason for that is we would still be tied in points, but we'd have 2 games in hand on them.

I like the current one a lot better. It looks a lot more mature.

Good to see Kass taking it to some bum.

If he could actually play a little better he would have been a great power forward.

Standings

Kinda sad to see the 3 NW teams at the bottom. At least, that's the last season!

Is it sad that I get a sick pleasure by watching the Oilers lose? Not for so much the team itself, but for a large majority of Oilers fans on here who have a superiority complex about the Wild? I know there is a handful of good Oilers posters here but by far they are the most insufferable on hfboards. Each loss brings a smile to my face.
