Tmac is a square peg round hole kinda guy, that moron is just going to keep pushing the system no matter how bad it gets.

Missed the game but guess I didn't really miss too much. 0-2 loss huh!

Ratto and Drew were being civil to each other and Drew agreed that TMac and the coaches tried to shift this team's core playing style away from speed to grind, but the core (Jumbo & Patty) rejected the shift because they still think they can out-skate opponents.

It was the most honest I've heard Drew talking about the Sharks in a while. He was semi-agreeing with Ratto that the coaches aren't the problem. The (two) players who can't buy into a new style are the problem.
That's interesting, too bad the players were right. Grind it out ****ing sucks ****ing donkey ****. All it does is grind out our offense.

The players basically are asking the coaches to realize they need to play uptempo and take ****ing plugs like Murray and Handzus out of the game.

Well, the one good thing is that Demers is still awesome. He and Vlasic were the shutdown pair. Also interesting to note, the Wild had the last change and they opted to play their shutdown pair, Brodin and Suter, against the Couture-Marleau-Pavelski line over the Thornton line, who got to see a lot of Stoner and Spurgeon.

Truly crazy to think this team is about two or three losses away from a lottery pick. This is so sad and frustrating. The time is NOW to make move or just write this whole thing off. It's not working any way you slice it.

Because everyone on that line is a goal scoring threat. Not so much on Thornton's.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Havlat got promoted to the top line mid-game? Or did he start on the top line? If so IMO that was a mistake. He doesn't really work on the top line and he was doing well on the 2nd line. Putting him on the top line puts 2 pass-first playmakers together with Beast Burns. Putting him on the 2nd line puts him with 2 shooters in Couture and Pavelski.

I'm not sure why the Couture on the top line experiment ended ... I thought it was doing fine.

What also sucks is how much Murray-Stuart are being sheltered by o-zone faceoffs with Joe on the ice.

Havlat and Demers were probably the only two players with a great game today.

Doug trading a top 5 pick should set HP on fire.

I'm excited for Mackinnon, personally.

I mean, we're probably going to get tops 1 point out of the Anaheim games, and Detroit will probably kick our collective ass, and we always suck against Phoenix. We have a really good chance at a good pick.

Burns and Havlat were great this game. That's telling.

Yeah Jumbo is awful and it might as well been Gomez between those two.

Agreed, although I'd throw Burns in there.

Might have been a good idea, actually. Then stick Joe with Galiardi and Wingels.

I still think we played Murray to much in a game that we needed some offence

I think so. Thornton has been uninspired for a while now. No reason for it.

It's really worth listening to that Ratto/Remenda exchange (starting at minute 7:45) because without actually naming Jumbo and Patty, Remenda makes it clear that "some guys who are used to scoring 75 or 80 or 90 points a season and scoring 30 goals -- that's just not happening anymore" are the problem with this team.

Since Jumbo and Patty aren't going anywhere until next summer, will TMac's "grind" experiment ever pan out? Probably not. I wouldn't be surprised if TMac rides out this season and quits this summer out of frustration.

A new coach for next season? Jumbo and Patty would play just fine in the "new system" for 7 games and then tank and then SJ's a lottery team.

Well, Marleau's still on a 40 goal pace, so I dunno what you're talking about there.
