Haha nice. He doesn't have to be in my head I'm not one of the 19 guys that has to play him tonight! I think this team can beat anybody in the league. They showed it last year after losing to this guy as well as getting swept by bryz in the regular season but almost sweeping him in the playoffs. Getting shutout by lundqvist twice and persevering in the Series. It just depends on what the team is motivated in doing.
We beat him when it counted last season. Hopefully Clemmer remembers Zajac torching him, and not his regular season dominance.
Or Bernier from a horrible angle. While he is 4-0-0 against us technically there is one game often forgot about. One time we scored 2 goals on him in the 1st period against them back in January or February of 2011 when Lemaire came back. Deboer put Markstrom in to start the 2nd period. I think we won 4-2 or maybe 5-2. The game winning goal was scored on Markstrom so he got the loss.
That was Markstrom's first ever game played in the NHL. We also beat Markstrom last year. So we're 2-0-0 against him if he starts.
And yes I would say most of the scouts are there for Florida. Forget who starts in net today we NEED to beat them regardless. I was calling them the San Antonio Rampage the other night for a reason. Their lineup is very depleted because of injuries, they aren't the same Panthers team that took us to 7 games last year. At least Versteeg won't be scoring against us since he's not in the lineup!
We better show up tonight cuz u know they want vengeance on us from last year. They prolly hate henrique and trav for their ot goals. I hope that won't phase them. Henriques been pretty good this year and Travis is finally waking up. Lets keep it going.
I don't understand why people get so enamored with the "there are 24 scouts at this game" comments whenever they arise.
There's a difference between scouts there preparing for a matchup and scouts there to grade players. There really are never 24 scouts at one game unless a team is looking to make a move.
Most teams have a scout at every single game during the season, they're just not picked up on because they're normal looking people.
This isn't true. Teams don't deploy scouts unless it's to attain information (upcoming match-up or targeting a player for a trade).
The Devils, for example, have 16 scouts. That's 16 scouts for the amateur draft (international and domestic) and scouts to deploy around the league for trades/match-ups. The Sabres have 21 scouts, for comparisons sake, and are tops in the league in that department.
The amount of money that it would cost to send scouts to 15 games and then to scout the amateur/international players would be astronomical. You strategically deploy your scouts. So this is a big deal. Whoever those scouts are looking at are players their respective GM's are targetting.
