Bozak is just meh defensively - he can't skate / keep up with many players, as seen in the last game against Buffalo on that 4v4 where Hodgson and Pominville owned Bozak, Dion and Gunnar.

Our top line would immediately be an offensive threat, forcing opposing teams to play their top pairing D against either them, or the Kadri line, and either line that's left to play against the 2nd or 3rd pairing D benefits.

Believe me, Ribiero would be a big upgrade for us.
As a UFA, ok totally, BUT TD pick up, hell no.

Seriously, you people disgust me. This happened the same year Bertuzzi almost crippled Steve Moore with a sucker punch to the back of the head. That guy shouldn't be playing hockey today but he is and when he's talked about that incident is brought up less frequently than the Ribeiro video.
Might I suggest some Midol and Cranberry Juice?

No disrespect to him, but I still think of him rolling around in the 04 playoffs. Made the sport look pretty bad.

So you have respect for him for that?

Really hope they keep him. Word on the DC street is he likes the area, so hope it works out.

Guys with his skill set tend to last a bit and he has been money this year for the Caps so far. First time in forever the Caps have two good playmaking centers. Invaluable in today's NHL.

Would love to get him for our first line then ship out bozak to the highest bidder, he's gonna want too much $

So would Ribeiro.

He's not a long term fit in Toronto so I see little reason to give up young assets for him.

He would be perfect for Chicago.

Well that's a stupid thing to say.

You can avoid actively disrespecting someone without respecting them for a specific action.

Did the bruins fan just see "kessel" in a username and decide to pounce?

Why in the hell would Washington be trading a pretty significant piece off its roster now when they are closing in on a play-off spot? I think they get in now.

Ribeiro sounds very mature and considerate in this piece but you won't be hearing anything from anyone about it.

True what a difference a week makes. The return of Brooks Laich, Mike Green and Dimitri Orlov to the line up has helped.

This. Look at WSH's schedule through the trade deadline as well.

NYI
@BUF
@PHI
@CAR

Good chance the team rolls right through the deadline which only makes trading Ribeiro even less likely. If it were like PIT, BOS, MTL, PIT, you could have a different situation, but it's not.

Murray got 2 2nds and is a bottom pairing Dman at best. Ribeiro is top 10 in points...

Utter nonsense. Ryder had no off-ice or dressing room issues, wasn't a diver and had no history of selfish play or behaviour.

If the Caps are sellers, the Leafs definitely have the prospect depth to pull off the deal. Could be something around, say, Tyler Biggs, which would give the Capitals two big, tough power forwards in-waiting.
If just makes no sense for Washington to move him when they're close to the playoff pool.

That's your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it, but when things are going as well as they are in Montreal right now, in my opinion, it's a colossally stupid idea to even entertain the idea of bringing in a player the could upset the chemistry of the room.

In this case, they know first hand the kind of issues he can bring into a locker room and, on top of that, he adds nothing to the team that they require. They don't need a softish, under-sized forward that distributes the puck well but isn't particularly good at face offs or defensive play.

So you can call it ridiculous, but it seems to be simply common sense to me.

I hope to God this is true.
Please let the Leafs acquire Ribeiro and then implode due to his selfish attitude.

Yeah his selfish attitude, that's why the Caps are trying to sign him and his teammates just indicated a few days back how important he's been to the team

He got traded from two different teams prior because of it.
Great player, but not a good personality or leader.
