I think my concern with Puempel (without having seen him much) is that his numbers have actually gotten worse as his junior career has gone on. I know he had the bad injury in his draft year, but what is the reason for this?

FWIW, the Hockey News Future Watch wrote that Kitchener has challenged Puempel to become a responsible player at both ends. If true, that could explain the drop in production. If he has become more of a 200 ft player then that is a good development.

Ohio played Notre Dame today. Notre dame won 3-1, Dzingel scored the lone goal for the Buck Eyes, Costello put one into the empty net.

Nothing so far for the OHL boys.

I'm very interested in Puempel as a prospect.

When we drafted him, I was rather underwhelmed and his injury during the season after his draft confirmed my appraisal. He's had underwhelming production at the OHL level as well.

With that in mind, he's still chugging along and I'm rather excited to see what he can do in the AHL and the prospect camp.

Rutkowski's first goal of the post season puts Portland up 1-0. BIG game with them losing last night.

Ceci and OS went up 2-0 in their series against SSM. no points +1 in the 4-2 win for ceci.
Same stat line for Noesen as Plymouth won 3-2 to go up 2-0 over Sarnia.

Brassard let in one goal and made 19 saves as quebec beat chicoutimi to tie up their playoff series 1-1.

Rutkowski with a goal and two assists in a 4-1 portland victory over Everett; series tied 1-1

Fransoo with an assist in a loss as kamloops defeats victoria 6-4 to go up 2-0

I think he'll be a gem once he cracks the line up. Not saving he'll be a steal of the draft but as long as he is a continuous sniper, he'll just have to be paired up with a good playmaking centre.

Costello is playing on a line (as he has all year, I gather) with Bryan Rust (PIT) and Anders Lee (NYI). Just assisted on a goal from Lee to make the game 1-1. He was net crashing, picked up the puck behind the net, threw it on and Lee put away the rebound.

Just another note, Touba is a BEAST. Scored the other goal in this game. He's everywhere. To think of Winnipeg's future D if they can keep Bogo, Enstrom and Buff... scary stuff.

UPDATE: Costello gets another EN goal. Nice one too actually, Michigan had some good chances at the other end and someone flipped it out of the zoneand he picked it out of the air and beat the goalie before he could get back from the bench. Notre Dame wins the CCHA tournament.

Puempel's got the lone goal so far tonight. A strong showing for him in the playoffs could go a long way. Ditto for their other guys like Rieder, Faksa and Murphy. Underachievers

How is Dzingel doing? How close is he to NHL or AHL ready.

I'm curious because he has jumped up a bunch of spots on our centre list on HF, and because his last name is mine with a "D" infront

When Puempel, Noesen and Ceci are eliminated they can join Bingo, correct?

Hopefully they all go far in the OHL playoffs but there's a pretty good silver lining that they can join Bingo for their playoffs if they get knocked out.

Yup, all our players in the CHL can join Bingo when they are eliminated, although those three and Rutkowski are likely the only guys to see any time, as Fransoo, Brassard and Driedger likely will not.

Rutkowski probably wont either. He's on a stacked team that's expected to make it to the Mem. Cup.

Yeah that's true, I just meant the are likely the only guys who draw in the lineup for any games, as they are the better, older prospects.

I doubt we see Fransoo. Don't think he will be signed to an ELC.

The Ottawa Senators have signed 6'5" Buddy Robinson .... Murray continues to bring in bigger players & adding more size to the organization.

Noesen with 1+1 halfway through the first. I don't think Bingo will be getting his services anytime soon. I can't see anyone in the O taking out Plymouth

No reason to get these guys in Bingo. A long CHL playoff run as well as a trip to the Mem Cup is important for development too.

The only reason I know he and BM are not one in the same is the fact it took DD so long to get called up

DD is an interesting player with an interesting story. I'm wondering how much he can grow yet in the AHL/NHL over the next couple of years. For a guy that didn't get his first crack at high level hockey until he was past his draft age he has a remarkable skillset.

and size. I think DD lost quite a bit of confidence by getting knocked out & it could take him a while to get that back. I expect he will be sent back to Bingo soon but if he ever gets his mojo back he could be a decent bottom six player for Ottawa at some point in the future.
