You are playing this well -it almost appears that you are being serious.

Brendan Shanahan, who scored the winner at 3:51 of sudden death, used some slight of hand to draw the late-third-period penalty that led directly to the tying goal.

"You see this happening a lot," coach Ron Wilson said. "In fact two of our penalties -- both to (Nils) Ekman -- he puts his stick on the arm and the guy uses his arm to hit himself with your stick."

"That's unfortunate we lose a point because of a call," Wilson said. "I can sort of understand officials' biting on something like that. But on the other hand, two guys are on the ice and one should be in position to see what really happened on the play. We could see it from the bench, and you almost laugh. What can you do?"
Every player does it from time to time. Even your beloved Wings.

Did you not watch your own posted video? Burish is chasing the puck carrier while skating parallel to the blue line when Konopka sees him and skates in his path. It's right there in your OWN video. Why don't you do one of your slo-mo gifs from seconds 15-18 in your video? Because that part clearly shows the interference.

You guys must think the Wild never commit penalties.

It was quite amazing really. You are just bewildered but can't stop laughing at the same time. Kind of like the Ovechkin "Platoon" dive.

No player in this league goes down easier than Brown.

Holding a players stick to draw a penalty isn't exactly the same thing as taking a header when a guy taps your ankle with one hand on his stick.

Besides, your link is accompanied by no evidence other than your former coaches opinion of the play.

I agree that no team is immune to diving and I don't really consider the Sharks any more prolific at it than any other team.

I wasn't intending to start an argument, I just thought that gif was well done, quite funny and fitting to the topic of the thread.

He's the best at fooling the refs. Usually very convincing.

There isn't any footage of it on YT, because it was in 2003, but Shanahan grabbed Ekman's stick and hit himself in the face late in a game vs SJ to draw a penalty, and it worked.

The gif is funny, too.

They need to start fining players for stuff after the fact. That garbage needs to be stopped.

What really needs to be done is to force the officials to call infractions, rather than have the players feel the need to embellish to get a call. If you look at the numbers of penalties called, they are way down, and that isn't because the game is being played cleaner...

I don't understand those complaining about the Ovechkin "dive".

He clearly gets hit in the face with a stick.

Hopefully, the dive draws attention to the fact that Burish should be bought out as one of the compliance options. It was a bad signing when it happened and he's only proving that. Yet another God awful Doug Wilson signing to attempt to fix the bottom six that will continue to suck as long as he's in charge.

Not one to defend brown much but look at the opponents stick. It is in front of Brown's right leg and behind his left leg. That is a great way to turn a player around or, in this case, knock them down since it looked like brown stepped on the blade and when the Canuck player tried to get his stick out easily could have done the rest.

Brown got corkscrewed. Most players would go down from that. Brown did have a bad dive against Dallas on Thursday though.

Epic. Bruins need to trade for him and put him on a line with Marchand.

These pukes need to be suspended and fined. No place in the game for this kind of play.

It's really difficult to give Brown the benefit of the doubt, though. Boy cried wolf, basically.
