I believe Stauffer said he's been playing with a broke finger for some time.
I guess it takes 2-3 months to heal a bone for some people then...
They should've IR'd him and let him get 100% RIGHT AFTER it happened. Who the hell makes their top young sniper, who they just signed VERY long term, play with a broken bone in their hand. Oh, so Horcoff it's okay; but Eberle has to work through it? Was that their plan? What a Mickey Mouse organization.
His "finger" isn't why his game has fallen off. Teams have figured out how to stop Eberle - it's a matter of not giving him any space to dangle around or angle his body/puck in away that his hands can do the work for him.
His hands are fine - you see it on some of the snipes he's had on his goals/shootout goals this year.
Teams aren't going to give him that tiny space he needs to make the quick dangles/shots he has, because they realize how dangerous a player he is.
Problem for Ebs is when that's gone, he just becomes an undersized guy out on the ice. Can't really protect the puck too well, easy to body, and not really making much of an effort at either end of the ice.
