I'm just glad Gonzaga is out, they get overrated every year and for some reason nobody catches on to it.

Since the season of Gonzaga's 1999 NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Tournament run to the Elite 8, Gonzaga has played a total of 67 games against teams ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll. Gonzaga has a record of 2444 against such teams.
Not even close to .500! Also, 2004-05 is the only year they even had a winning record against Top 25 teams, and they went 3-2.

Also, since they went to the Elite 8 back in '99, this is their results:
4 Sweet 16 losses
7 Round of 32 losses
3 Round of 64 losses

Point is. Gonzaga sucks. They had one good run over a decade ago and have been living off that ever since. 15-14 overall in the tourney after that Elite Eight run.

They almost beat that UConn team that ended up winning the title, since then the only time they have come close to getting back there is when they had a 15 point lead with 4 minutes to go in the sweet 16 and then managed to screw that up.

Southerland was a lot more important to Syracuse than Porter was to Georgetown. And I live in DC. And I'm a Georgetown fan. That tells you how important Southerland is. He was the real Big East player of the year.

UCLA Brass: We haven't sacked Howland

Quote:
UCLA hasn't fired Ben Howland as basketball coach, although his time in Westwood appears to be running out.

A school spokesman said late Saturday night that contrary to multiple media reports UCLA had not fired Howland.

Howland told the Los Angeles Times that he had not yet spoken to athletic director Dan Guerrero, who typically evaluates Howland and the program after every season. Yahoo Sports reported that Howland had already been notified that he was out.
The Bruins' season ended Friday with an 83-63 loss to Minnesota in the NCAA tournament.

Howland has a 233-107 record in 10 seasons at UCLA. He took the Bruins to three Final Fours and won four Pac-12 championships, including this season. He has two years left on his contract that includes a $2.3 million buyout.

Gonzaga, c'mon man. St. Joe's at least got to the Elite 8 in 2004 as a non-power 1 seed.

RT @Buccigross: Gonzaga did not beat a team this season which won a game in the Round of 64..Gonzaga: allowed 24-51 3-pt FG in 2 tournament games (47.1 pct)

It was probably a bit dubious to give a #1 seed to an A-10 team but them being undefeated sort of justified it. That was a pretty good team too. Unlike Gonzaga who today get more hype than many power conference teams that was a team you could root for in good conscience.

That St. Joe's team also at least had the national player of the year.

St. Joes was a fingertip away from the Final 4, Gonzaga was never that close.

I want to see Iowa State pull off the upset just to annoy a bunch of Pens board mods, haha.

Dayton, Ohio. Announcers said it is only like 70 miles from Ohio State's campus.

Also, some of these 3's are smooth. I swear that last Iowa State tres didn't even touch the net when it went through

Iowa St can't finish in the paint, missing a lot of easy buckets.
