So after Krueger's reins are done, Buchberger and Steve Smith is to follow....
looks like we won't have any real offensive hockey in the next decade !

Question: Would you guys want to hire Rick Dudley as GM? I think he'd be great.

You do that. I'd rather have Burke in charge of this team than fumblin' Tambo.

Can't wait until Tambellini gets fleeced at the deadline.

Free agency ain't helpin' us this year, friends. Besides, do you really want Tambellini running our team this offseason through free agency? His track record with UFAs isn't good.

Oilers need an overhaul, and it starts with him.

True, might as well wait for him to re-earn some of his trade value before making the move.

It would be colossally stupid to trade any of the big 4. Eberle will turn it around if freaking Sam Gagner and MPS could.

This board is too fixated on the flavour of the month. Suddenly Gagner is untouchable and Eberle can't even fetch a top 4 d-man, lol.

Go ahead trade him to the Canucks or Penguins, they'll take him and then we'll see who laughs last.

Our goof GM isn't any better, in fact I think he's worse.

How about bringing up some guys from the AHL... just to change things up. Arcobello, Rajala.

Put Eberle on IR. Belanger could get his hangnail checked out or something. Just to give some different blood a chance.

Maybe not but it's not as if Burke's track record is much better. Mike Komisarek?

Probably, but Burke isn't a massive upgrade. If he was over anyone in the league don't you think some other team would've jumped on him by now? Why didn't Columbus hire him? Strange...

Because of our schedule. Majority of games at home (even though the oilers aren't good at home), a number of games remaining that are against poor teams. He mentioned calgary, which after a loss tonight may move them towards being sellers at the deadline making them weaker. He also mentioned columbus, even though they've been playing well lately.

He failed to mention we play the ducksX3, the canucksX3 (could be good or bad), the hawks, the kings, phoenix, and minnesotaX2.....

The way the Blues played by completely smothering the Oilers right from the get-go, when Stewart scored I said to my wife "Well, there's the game winning goal." This game just had that shutout feel to it, and it's not be ause the Oilers weren't trying, it's because the Blues gave them zero time and zero space. They are my sleeper pick to come out of the West if they can stay healthy and play like that.

Arcobello is a career AHLer. He had his cup of coffee.

@EdmontonOilers: "He had a good day. We expect him to be on the plane with us tomorrow." - Coach Krueger with good news on RNH
@EdmontonOilers: "Unacceptable for the kind of team we want to be. We need to react to this as quick as possible by winning the next game." - Krueger
@EdmontonOilers: "It was definitely our weakest performance in a long time ... We came out flat. It was a dream road game for them." - Krueger

Well, theres a ton of people at the game swilling beer that evidently didn't figure out what they were watching tonight was a textbook clinic by the road team playing Ken Hitchcock Dallas Stars in their heyday type hockey. We've seen this before, but apparently a lot of newbies on hand at Rexall that don't recognize what just happened.

Tambellini won't get fleeced because he'll refuse to do anything significant, just like his entire career so far.

The Leafs are doing good and Burke has a decent track record. Also I am not entirely sure Burke would even want to work in Columbus. If we don't go after Burke, I'm sure Calgary will when they eventually fire Feaster.

I don't understand this at all. First of all, what do you believe the management need to do to improve us into a playoff team? Using Hemsky, Gagner , etc. who do you think we could acquire that could turn us into a playoff team.
