Watching Gag's interview... I'm a big supporter of him, I'm confident that this team would be so much better if they all had his compete level, but god damn he looks small...

The leafs current success is a product of burke's work yes i know they fired him but the team's success has nothing to do with their new gm

And therefore firing Tambo and hiring Burke puts us on a course to the playoffs.... how?

Pitkanen wasn't happy here, Visnovsky requested a trade and Souray.... Well, ya know so that's why they were moved.
Amazingly enough, the only thing that Tambellini had to show for trading those 3 is Whitney. Oh, that Tambo.

I don't disagree but that was also probably the easiest road game the Blues have had all year.

Lupul + Smith for Pitkanen
Bergeron for Grebeshkov

The only trade he really lost was the Pronger deal.
Pitkanen for Cole is the worst trade the Oilers have made in the last 4-5 years, I think Lowe made it, no?

Stauffer and Tencer have to suck the Oilers' teat because that's how they get paid. I get that. But blaming the fans? Really?

Is the organization that fragile that they can't take a little heat from a fanbase that has suffered through seven years of horrible hockey? It's like they think we still owe them after 2006.

Or putting it in a different way: what's the Oilers all time record against Hitchcock-coached team?

This guy and Stauffer are the main reason I no longer listen to 630 ched hockey shows. Spector, Gregor, Brownlee, and Struds are much less biased overall.

Grabovski, Lupul, Komi, Connolly.

You can't deal with that. We'd outprice ourselves.

We don't need a Burke. We need a Shero/Bowman/Holland type. The type that knows what a contending team with lots of top-end talent needs to compete.

Yup what a weak excuse by Tencer , Was there even anything to cheer about tonight? If the Oilers put this kind of effort against Columbus next week then damn straight I will boo.

It's the fans folks! Actually you know what it is? Edmonton's media specifically those that work for 630 CHED not asking the tough questions so that management feels that they are invincible/untouchable. If they could get their noses out of managements rears long enough to watch a hockey game they could see that this is a terribly imbalanced team without quality veterans to speak of and is badly in need of an overhaul. Oh well, I guess management will continue to have fart sniffers close by as long as it's the fans fault.

Saw-off at best, and that's still not something that can be seen as a positive for this organization. I'm not a huge "pro-Burke" guy, but he would certainly build a better contending team from the defense-on-up than what this org. has been doing for the past 7 years, IMO.

Yep, I did suggest that earlier in the thread. Man Hitchcock is back in the business here with this lineup playing for him the way they are.

Yet Oilers org has never expressed one iota of interest in Hitchcock who bloody well comes from Edmonton.
