I agree. Feaster should not just let things fester at the deadline this year.

Fair enough.

Barring that kind of drastic overpayment, he'd be a pretty invaluable piece on a rebuilding team. Don't see him as captain material, but maybe an assistant if any or all of Cammalleri/Bouwmeester/Giordano/Tanguay get moved.

Not saying no, but I doubt it.

It would be an added unnecessary distraction and could possibly backfire as Iginla still has a NTC. If he would prefer on re-signing with the team he is traded to and doesn't like the offer he hears he might just not waive it for that team.

I'd hope that teams looking at Iginla and knowing Iginla was willing to waive his NTC to go there would be a good enough indication that there's a good possibility of re-signing him.

I was just thinking that Alex could be good boost for the Jets top six and if the price fits they should target him.

You want a top 5 pick for Glencross?

We're talking his value to this organization. Not as a whole. He is one of our best, most consistent players, and if you watch our games, you can tell he is one of the few on our team who brings it 100% every night, the effort and compete level from Glencross, even when we're on the bad end of a blowout is amazing, pure heart and soul for us. If Iggy gets traded, I'd be naming Glencross our captain personally, alternates be damned.

I fail to see why that is so funny when he himself said it was absurd.

If that is the case, then I could see interest in him growing and do think that there may be a good fit with him and LA knowing the connection he has with Darryl Sutter and I think the organization (and pretty much every player in the league) has a ton of respect for a player like Iginla.

It's always a shame to see a player who has spent his entire career playing for one organization (despite him being drafted by Dallas, he'll always be remembered as a Flame), but his opportunity to win a Cup is shrinking the older he gets and he's very unlikely to get that chance with the Flames.

So they're gonna make like 1 or two trades then?

Because...because...trade deadline day is slow as hell? Anyone?

I'll show myself out.

The demand for some of Calgary's defensemen is very high. The demand for forwards, not so much. It seems that all of the contending teams are deep on forward but need a quality defenseman. Or in Chicago's case, maybe they should target Kiprusoff.

Anyone with value has a NMC or NTC. Good luck.

Its about time Feaster came to grips with reality. He probably has the hardest job in hockey right now.

I kind of don't want Iginla to say he wants to come to the Pens. I'd rather not keep seeing this headache from the Pens point of view. People are saying Beau should be involved? Hells no.

Wish Iginla the best, if he stays or goes, to whichever team he joins. Maybe the Pens will be in on trying to sign him in the summer.

You are talking about a guy that sent out an offer sheet for a kid and didn't fully realize that he had to clear waivers. Had Colorado accepted the 1st and 3rd, he would have not only effectively screwed his team at the draft for future prospects, but also lost the guy he gave up those picks for, for absolutely nothing, to another team.

I don't know about Flames fans, maybe they're overly optimistic about him doing good, but so far the guy seems to be very inept.

The only people that need to come to grips is the owners of the Flames.

You guys gave Edmonton a serviceable defensemen and a third round pick for Steve frickin Staios! I doubt it would take as much of an overpayment you'd think it would. A fair hockey trade would get a deal done.

Is Kipper even tradable right now? A lot of what's going on with the team and losses may not be his fault but he isn't stealing games the way he used to.

It's pretty hard to sympathize with an ownership and management group who's painted themselves into a corner like this. If we're going to feel for anybody right now it should be the players. Not knowing your fate or what the team's going to do must be the worst part of this entire mess.

They should be having a serious firesale but I don't think they will. I think we'll see a couple of little trades to make it look good for the cameras and keep the TSN guys busy but that will be about it.

My prediction is that a couple of midrange guys (In separate deals) will be traded out and the team will gain a couple of middle round draft picks or something like that.
