Its the idiot Torts who has a problem with everyone. Besides, Zucci will not come back to sit on the bench or get yelled at every game by the Abusive coach..

With a contract spot open now that Halpern is gone, I have a very strong feeling Zuke will be signed within 24 hours...

Despite the hate he gets around here, I think Zuke could be a great help and improve our 3rd line and also play on the 2nd if he has to.

His playing might not fit the grind it out jam style the Rangers play, but it doesn't seem to be fitting ANYONE right now.

Torts is blamed for literally every and any problem this team has.

Slats is the GM. He decides who is signed and who isn't.

If Zucc can't handle playing for any specific coach at the NHL level, he has some work to do toward becoming a professional.

Having said all of that, I think Zucc should come back at this point assuming that his demands aren't too unreasonable.

Zucc told norwegian newspapers the relationship between him and torts where good a couple of weeks ago. If zucc gets the right contract, he will be in NY faster than a bullet leaving a gun.

Good to hear that from him. I expected him to be mature about the whole thing. I hope they give him what he wants (within reason) and we get him out to NY as soon as possible.

But most here, and I agree, think that they want one contact open for the deadline so they didn't want to use that on Zucc, now they have that spot for Zucc while still having a spot for possibly a deadline player.

is the contract list different from the reserve list? Because the reserve list is 50 players too and Zuke's has been mentioned to be on that list as an RFA. So I am a bit confused on whether they are the same list or not.

They're different. Last year, Kreider was on the reserve list, but didn't sign his ELC until after finishing his BC season.

At the same time, The Post was told the Rangers are preparing to make an offer to restricted free agent winger Mats Zuccarello, who has one year remaining on his KHL contract with Magnitogorsk, but has an out-clause that would allow him to return to the NHL.

It remains to be seen whether the offer will be lucrative enough to entice Zuccarello, who will only consider a one-way deal after spending most of his two years in North America in the AHL.

He earned more in the KHL (about 2-2.5 M) but he primary wants to play in the NHL
Seemed that he had a much better life outside the hockeyarena in New York than in Metallurg. Not hard to understand.

He has also improved in defense after one year in KHL. After what I read in an article Rangers was very satisfied with his development in his defensive work

After taxes.I'd be surprised if he signed for less than $1,5.

That's fair and I also am fairly positive Torts voices his opinion and would say things like you can sign him but he won't play if he can't play " the right way " which apparently is no where near the slot in open ice or with any passion or creativity .

For a 1 year deal that expires after this season? Don't see why not. Cap hit would only be about half that since he's coming midway through the season.

2 Year deal id give him 1.0 million per easily. That is chump change for a player who can actually provide some offense for a team in dire need of some.

Where does it say he wouldn't accept that? I'm pretty sure he will take any 1 way contract.

I'm pretty sure Zucc is looking for at least 2 years. Anything over 925k next year will count against the cap if we send him down, which is why he won't get 1.5 mil. Zucc wants the 1 way contract. Sather will want to keep his cap hit low so he can bury the contract if needed.
