Will reserve my judgement on our need for a blue liner until I see what Clark can do. For now though, I'm perfectly fine with no moves at all given how our team is playing.

if we do anything it'll be a "hockey trade". roster player for roster player with maybe a pick or prospect to even things out if there's a significant difference in value (be it contract length or general proficiency)

I just hope the wild do something. I see three choices.

Lose some picks or a player for a rental. Take a chance at a deep run. I am fine going down swinging.

Trade Seto, Cullen, Backstrom, and get players and picks. Set your self up for the future.

Re-sign Cullen and Backstrom. Cullens value is too high to let him walk for nothing, or add pieces now becasue you have some over acheiving older vets.

My biggest fear. We do nothing. We do not get better this year or add extra pieces for next year.

Cullen and Backstrom won't be traded.

Bouchard on the other hand, might be traded for the right price or "hockey trade".

With time left on his contract and his recent success no chance Setoguchi goes anywhere. ZERO. Bouchard on the other hand being a pending UFA we aren't keeping he is certainly on the block

Fletcher doesn’t want to make moves at the deadline that would lessen the roles that Wild rookies Jonas Brodin (top-pair defenseman), Charlie Coyle (first-line right wing) and Jason Zucker (playing second-line left wing before an injury opened the door for Pierre-Marc Bouchard to reestablish himself) would have if the Northwest Division-leading Wild makes the playoffs.

One player who still might be on the trading block is Bouchard, who is in the last year of his deal. He almost certainly will not be re-signed.

How anyone can seriously be advocating trading Cullen or Setoguchi at this point is beyond my level of comprehension.

100% correct why seto or cullen some folks are never happy. Make aq trade just to make a move sometimes the best trade are no trades

If you are concerned about the future then why in the hell would you trade Seto?

Butch is a beast. Hope he stays with team and possibly resigned for less money or something.

I like Butch, but he should go to a team where he doesn't have to get in the middle much. One more injury for him, and he's done.

Plus, we need to give Granlund a shot at this point, and I'm hoping Granlund will take Butch's spot next year.

Cullen is just known to be so streaky, while he is playing good hockey now, anybody remember how it was at the beginning of the season and who was getting traded / bought out?

The only guy from the top 9 i think gets moved is PMB. There is about 1.5 weeks till deadline. i think PMB is moved on deadline day for picks/prospect.

i know people advocate for depth but PMB doesn't strike me as the guy you count on for that. He's playing great since getting put back in I just don't trust that will continue.

I think the exact opposite. No rentals (they won't help). No trades of Seto, Cullen, and Backstrom for picks (we aren't out of the playoffs). Don't re-sign Cullen (1 good month in 3 years doesn't mean you re-sign the old man when Granlund is going to be there next year) and only re-sign Backstrom if he comes at a reasonable price (which I think he will).

I would take Boyle, but from seeing the Main board thread on him. The price seems to be high. I would do Butch+Mid level prospect but I think it's very unlikely it gets done.

I'm interested to see what Clark can do, it is hard to make judgements on our defense without seeing him play.

I might be alone in this, but I would also take Douglas Murray. I think he could be had for cheap and would be an upgrade over Falk/Prosser/maybe Spurg.

We should probably ask for a 2nd round pick also, they like to give us picks.

How about Ryan Clowe...I think the price would be too high but if somehow we could move Bouchard+ something for Clowe that would be a great move.

Or Bouchard for Stafford...I'd like that one too

I think everyone in San Jose has blocked Fletcher's number by this point

Not quite. According to a couple Sharks' fans, they've either won all the trades or they've come out even. Personally, I look at the Burns trade as an automatic win, since keeping him would've made it very difficult to afford Parise and Suter.

Ooooh the lengths I would go to get Kulikov to Wild. I would be totally okay with trading Zucker or Coyle as a part of a package for Kulikov.

There are teams interested in Cullen, depending on price i think we almost have to offer him a contract or trade him.

I have no desire to trade Seto. Again if the price is high. Sign or trade.

With Backstrom. We have two unprovens in the minors and Harding who we cannot count on. I think Backs has 2-3 good years left.

Hockey is a business. You cannot let assets go without a return. Seto, Cullen and Backstrom are all assets. Seto you can sit on for year so we a luxury there. If you have a chance to make the team better why not?
