This team never passes or calls play for JV. Guy played 30 minutes and only took 4 shots and made every one, 3 of those shots were from offensive boards. This pisses me off so much. He had 11 points despite his team. Imagine the kind of numbers he could have had this year if the team would just pass him the ball? Hell, imagine what numbers he would be capable of putting up in his prime?

18-20ppg 9-11 boards 2 blocks maybe?

He's incredibly efficient and great offensively. But never gets the damn ball. How many times did he post up Melo, JR, Felton and he was looked over in favour of a long 2 or contested 3? My god.

I some-what agree. I mean, I do like some of the guys on the team but its to do much with the roster. They are almost at the luxury tax and only really trade able assets you can get significant players for are JV/Lowry and maybe Ross. It was why I didn't like the trade. Gay makes the roster better but he's not a franchise player and doesn't significantly make this team better. I guess the good thing is we're not completely handicapped as these guys aren't locked up for 4-5 years.

I don't know what can be done to improve the roster. I think a lot of it has to come internally with the roster they have in place. For next season, Ross and JV will have to take big step forwards for the team to compete. I think Lowry also needs to become the best player on the team. He is the most talented player on the team IMO, he can do everything, shoot, rebound, attack the rim, defend, create for others. It would be nice if Gay and DeMar can start shooting more efficiently... but yeah, I'm not too optimistic about the team going forward.

I dunno, I just never got into it. I've seen games here and there on occasion and some of them have been good but I don't ever end up watching the whole game. I just don't like watching college/junior games for any sport.

I love NBA and I've never been into the NCAA at all. Game is too different for my likes.

Fair enough.

I love it because it's the only annual tournament where you can expect there to be an upset. A tournament without (at least) one is the exception, not the rule.

I do see where you two are coming from though. It is a much different game than the NBA.

To think if Casey didnt force a winning culture last season we would have had a top 5 pick. We could have then drafted Lillard and then not gone after Lowry. We would then keep our pick this year and if we didnt make the Gay trade we could have kept Jose and Davis. Then we would probably have had a top 3-5 pick this year and our lineup going into next season could have potentially looked like this:

Lillard / Calderon
Smart / DeRozan
Anderson
Davis / Johnson
Valanciunas

Then maybe we could have a chance at a top 5 pick next year and have a chance for Wiggins

Lillard / Calderon
Smart / DeRozan
Wiggins
Davis / Johnson
Valanciunas

Man I hate Casey and Colangelo.

Well, ****. Amir looks really, really, really hurt. You know it's gotta be bad if he's wincing and screaming like that considering how tough he is.

Derozan and Gay have to work on their 3 point shooting this summer. It's too hard to win in this league when your SG and SF are this inept at shooting 3's.

At least Gay has shot a decent 3P% before, Demar has never even hit 30 percent in any year. I just hate having a SG that can't shoot, it creates imbalance with the rest of your roster.

Honestly the Raptors aren't going anywhere.

They could have gotten Marcus Smart in this years draft

Then have a chance to get Wiggins, Randle, or Parker

But nope we would rather have Rudy Gay, Lowry and Landry Fields

LOL this team we would have been so much better if we went with the full rebuild but instead we opt to get Rudy Gay who's having a horrible shooting season 0.408 FG% 0.292 3PT% 18pts on 17 shots LOL that's jokes that most of you though you had a chance of making the playoffs once you got Rudy Gay. He hasn't been the same player ever since his shoulder injury. So happy Memphis got rid of that scrub

Most of us thought we had a chance at making the playoffs? You should probably check the criticism that came along with the trade before you talk out of your ass.

"we would have been so much better"
"so happy Memphis got rid of that scrub"

sounds like you have an identity crisis going on there.

I am a Memphis fan that has to live around annoying Raptors fans so I pretty much had to go a couple of weeks with people telling me Rudy Gay is going to put us into the playoff picture for sure

I know Raptor fans didn't like it yeah but I'm just saying the people that were talking smack saying how stupid as hell Memphis was when the trade first happened sure are ****ing quiet

At the beginning it didn't look that nice, aside from the salary cut, because they weren't playing Ed. Now that he's getting more minutes he's becoming a real cog on their bench. I personally wish we would have kept him because aside from Amir (who I like more as a 6th man) we're thin at Power.

With all the swingmen coming through College ball and likely entering the 2014 draft we could have drafted a true shooting forward/guard next year and potentially fix that problem without trading assets.

Yeah I know for a fact that Ed Davis was tearing it up when he got the start at PF. I don't think BC is going to trade Andrea either. I wish he got better at shooting FTs though had no idea he was so bad at the line lol.

Yeah exactly my point. Would have loved to see Otto Porter in a Raptors jersey

This pretty much sums it up. Fan of all the TOR pro sports teams, and I always thought Raps would make playoffs before the Leafs. Oh man, it's been brutal being a sports fan in this city. Thank god for the Jays and Leafs giving us a taste of hope this year. If/when the Leafs/Jays show success in playoffs and contend, this city will be a buzz.

However the Raps...Not sure what the status of Colangelo is, whether or not the new ownership will re-sign or find a replacement. I'm of the latter..he's gots to go. I want Casey gone too, but it looks so bush league when we have this ever revolving door of coaches.

The Raps aren't that hopeless. Gay, Derozan, Lowry and Johnson are all good players. It really comes down to how Ross and Valancunias develop and what we do with Bargnani.

We won't be a contender but we have a good chance of settling in as a consistent playoff team which isn't the end of the world.

No one was going to help the Raptors make the playoffs this year. Even if we got Lebron James. They were 15 games under .500 before Xmas. What people mean is that Rudy Gay makes us a playoff calibre team and one to look out for next season. He's exactly what the Raptors needed a go to forward and a capable SF we haven't had since probably Garbajosa.
