Pretty sure that doesn't qualify as a "homer vote". It's no stretch to think that he's easily top 3 this year, at bare minimum.

But I'll have to just barely give the nod to Sacco...

If Sacco wins the Adams, it's proof that NHL broadcasters read Hf.

If he doesn't, it's proof of the East coast bias.

This poll is funny because Sacco isn't good at all at his job .....
Sorry about complaining but I just hate when polls are derailed, guess it's a pet peeve of mine.

Sacco is one of the greatest minds in the league right now, he just sees the game in a much more different way than most other coaches can. His ability to do so is unique to only great coaches not only in the NHL, but extends to other sports and leagues such as the NBA, NFL, etc.

Sacco's ability to see the game, and dissect it can only be compared to great coaches like Bill Walsh and Don Shula; pure tacticians, cerebral like a military general. Truly a mastermind of hockey, Sacco can see the ice well as a coach, much like Gretzky could see the ice well as a player.

It's a no brainer; the only acceptable answer for the #1 spot has to be Joe Sacco, and it's not even close.

The other coaches play chess. Sacco plays Jenga.

Sacco. And in this case the infamous AINEC is justified.

As someone already mentioned, take Matt Hunwick for example. Other teams and coaches didn't want him. They didn't believe in him. They thought he wasn't good enough. But Sacco has seen his potential and plays Hunwick as the minute-munching top-pairing D-man he should be. That's just something that other coaches couldn't even think of.

Indeed. Though we should also credit Sherman and the generous Avalanche owners for creating the environment in which this was possible.

Imagine how it feels when it's your own poll that gets ruined.

FFS. I just tied it for my captain and some Sens homer got distracted by the Stache and voted MacLean again.

I mean how can that not be Sacco?
There is no one better than him out there.
No one leads the tank like him. Only Avs fans are not fooled by this charming, talented and brilliant mind. The Avs want to build around the two home town boys in Duchene and Jones. But we are too good to be that bad if not for Sacco.
Sending down Barrie and playing Hunwick top pairing minutes?
Simply brilliant.

I really hope that Sacco takes over for Bettman next year.
He could improve the leverage of the NHL in regards to the next CBA in a way no one else could.
Maple Leafs fans might be a bit pissed off when he will force their team to Phoenix but it is for the greater good.
The players would have NO leverage and have to take 23 % at most.

And I don't think that Fehr could keep up with Saccos hard work and intensity.

Avs fans would be very sad to see him go but sometimes you have to make sacrifices.
Sacco for next commissioner!

Tough one. I considered Bylsma, MacLean, Hitchcock, Tippett and Babcock at different times.

Ended up going Bylsma.

Take into account that make there's another 4-5% that I don't recognize, and that's still only one quarter homer votes.

I deem your statement false; at least in this case. We can be MASSIVE homers when it comes to Erik Karlsson.

I feel like there's some illegitimate voting going on here. Paul Maclean must be getting votes based on his look, rather than coaching ability.

He wasn't serious. Reference to MacLean beating 'best coach' Joe Sacco.
