not sure whatis out there, as we only hear clowe or clarkson

but........MB has to be looking for size, he has played , knows that in the playoffs you need depth and size to win.

are smaller team is ok for reg season, but along the boards in playoffs, will get killed.

I wouldn't mind Jagr, but I wouldn't pay more than a 2nd and maybe an ok prospect.

If we got Jagr, we'd be so deep it'd be disgusting.

Trade for Cody Mcleod. (White + 3rd? )

Sign ncaa ufa Laganierre and our own Kristo. We lack quality forwards at the AHL level, or nearly NHL ready.

Prust, Bourque and Diaz addthe size, grit and talent we need. 2 top 9 fwds and a top4 d pp specialist.

No need for massive moves or deals. This team seems to be moving along well and small tweeks to slowly add some size is needed. Adding some for this playoffs is good (Mcleod)but wholesale changes arent needed.
Probably the best comments so far

Totally... That's what Dallas wants. A terrible defenseman and their 3rd back.

Chris Stewart offer sheet

Don't know if this was dicuss before, but we have:

1) A salary cap being well-managed by Bergevin (even more with the possible buyout of Kaberle)

2) 1 first round draft picks (possible low one)
2 seconds
3 third

3) Deep group of prospects

4) The St-Louis Blues with a 70M$ cap hit, they have to re-sign guys like Berglund, Shattenkirk, Pietrangelo and of course, Stewart.

Do we go with an offer sheet? I'm thinking about 25M$ for 5 years. I'm not really familiar with the compensation, so what will it be? Tell me what you think!

Giving a player with a notoriously inconsistent work ethic $5M a year doesn't sound very wise to me.

Calgary is reportedly looking to move Iginla. Gionta's NTC is one thing, for sure, but similarly producing captains hardly seems like an outlandish start to a package.

Where did I suggest that a 1-for-1 deal would be "fair", haha?

i believe the compensation for that hit would be a 1st and 3rd.

I agree. There is a risk of having him sitting on his big contact. In my utopic world, Stewart's present success is due to a change of attitude.

Then I think its a very low risk since our draft position. With all the prospect depth we have, I think it will be a good move.

Call me crazy but I'd like to try and get some more picks for this upcoming draft than trading them for rentals.

Unless Boston or Pittsburgh does something drastic this team can beat them IMO so why not just try and get healthy and maybe move a couple scraps for whatever.

I hope he does finally get it but considering his track record I'd be scared to give that sort of contract to him after this season.
