This should be locked, there's absolutely no way in hell.

On a side note, please do it Dallas, trade him to Anaheim or out of the division (though I guess that wouldn't even matter next season).

They're facing Eriksson? I think Beaulieu and Leblanc would lose. No help from the picks because they can't skate.

Eriksson-Bergeron-Marchand
Chara-Seidenberg

I know the fact that he's available is idiotic, but I dare you to score when those 5 are on the ice.

Brooks didn't even speculate. He made a comment about how it'd be the smart thing to do.

Except the Stars aren't starting a rebuild, they are in the middle/toward the end of one.

I am 110% certain this won't happen. A 27 year old two-way winger who consistently hits 30G-70pts signed for 3 more years at 4.25M?

Who the **** would trade that to "rebuild"?

Furthermore, the Dallas Stars are in a playoff spot!

This was Brooks saying what player he'd want off a team who was rebuilding, and nothing else. There's literally nothing to suggest that player is, or would ever be, available.

The smart thing to do would be to laugh at Brooks for suggesting that Dallas would trade their best two way winger for rebuildin pieces....

There's a better chance Bobby Orr will come out of retirement.

Not with Joe Nieuwendyk as GM.

Why would the Stars want Kessel's shorter contract when they're rebuilding?

I don't think moving Loui is the right move for Dallas, but there's no doubt they could get quite the hefty return for him if that's the route they choose to go.

Dallas would have to be mentally ill to trade Eriksson. He is definitely part of their future plans.

As a Stars fan wanting to completely gut the team and rebuild, I'd trade him.

1st, High-end prospect, and a defenseman worth of top 3 minutes.

That coupled with trading Roy, Morrow, and Robidas, could really have us in a good position for the draft and building towards being a good team in a couple of seasons.

1st, Gardiner, Ashton ?

Early/Mid 1st + young top 4 Dman + 2nd/3rd line prospect ?

Mine as well trade Jamie Benn and Kari Lehtonen for some picks too. And when a few of those picks turn into legitimate NHL players, trade them for picks too. And let the cycle commence!

Larry Brooks is still alive? He's speculating and has no connection to the Stars whatsoever. This is how trade rumors get started though. A writers speculates on a "what if" basis, and fans start going with it. In two weeks we'll have people referencing as fact, how Dallas is listening to moving him.

The NY Post is a joke and Brooks is rarely right on anything.

I agree that they need to rebuild however Benn may not want to stick around either.

Really can't see Dallas trading Eriksson but if they ever did Ottawa should better give them a call to see what they would want.
