I can more than likely say the player he is talking about is in-fact Ovechkin, he was a phenom since entering the league, was the best player at one point in the NHL and was claimed to be the face of the Capitals for the next 2 decades. Yep, it makes too sense if this is major major deal in the mix that would shock the hockey world.
But once again, this Eklund, so who knows. It may or may not be true.
The problem with "rumors" like this are they're so vague that it's easy to end up looking "right" when something big happens. Especially when it's this close to the trade deadline, it doesn't take a hockey insider to predict that a big move is very likely to occur soon.
Unless names are given, then this is no better than me simply stating "I can guarantee some of the contenders will improve their team by the deadline".
