I know they are two completely injuries but he has come back from a fairly serious knee injury in junior, which is also a key part of development.

He responded extremely well in his first full year in the NHL and played a full 82 game schedule. The only thing that scares me is that it's a hip injury. We just have to pray he doesn't become injury prone or having lingering issues with it upon returning.

Sucks for Cowen. The few games he played in bingo he was playing 1st PP and it looked like he was really gonna develop his offensive game down there. Would've payed dividends.

Just an update:
Ottawa Senators ‏@NHL_Sens 38m

Both Craig Anderson and Jared Cowen skated earlier today.

This is a good sign, means he is still moving forward.

A month until playoffs.

You guys think there is a shot he can possibly play? I definitely think so.

Man how amazing it would be to get Andy, Cowen, Spezza and Michalek back for playoffs.

I've gotten the distinct impression a few times now that obrien isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The morning's biggest surprise: Jared Cowen is on the ice for practice.

Bryan Murray says they suggested to Cowen to join the group, doesn't mean he's close to a return. Maybe late April but still not clear...

Late April is still pretty good, considering that`s only a few weeks away. However, I'd temper my expectations. He's been out for a heck of a long time.

He needs some NHL money. He gets screwed by getting hurt in Bingo...65000 vs 1 3mil. Ouch! Hopefully Melnyk has worked something out.

Although it might not mean much, there's no negatives you can take from the fact he's practicing with the team.

If he comes back for the playoffs that's huge.

I'd assume this stuff is defined by the CBA, so even if Melnyk wanted to help out, I doubt he could.
