La Banquise is big time overrated in my eyes. You can get much better poutines for cheaper at at most fry shacks.

Apparently it's (official) Montreal Poutine Week right now. Driving up from Ottawa for the Sunday game, so will partake at a participating establishment!

I know it's not canonical (like the Ottawa poutine mentioned earlier), but if I had to try one of the crazy variations, the BBQ or Syrian poutine look interesting.

Also I love watching the clapping guy and the quoted clapping guy applauding in sync.

Syrian poutine looks really interesting.

I'd try the Burnt Ends Poutine. Tripled cooked fries equal perfect fries (crispy outsite and soft inside) and La Fameuse because of the foie gras sauce. The Breakfast Poutine looks awful.

That poutine puts quite a few others to shame !

It's EXTREMELY salty though, the first few bites are heaven, but then the saltyness seems to get a little overwhelming.

As a self appointed Poutine expert, I can confirm that the 'crushed fries' poutine as served at Poutineville is out of this world. This poutine innovation is a game changer equivalent to the Geoffrion slapshot or the Patrick Roy butterfly technique.

Poutinville allows for poutine customization... my favorite is Pizza (pepperoni, green pepper) Poutine with papates ecrasees!

Montreal Poutine is pretty good. It's one of the places I tell myself I should go back to.

I uses to do my own tasty poutine with the BBQ sauce of Selection but they changed their sauce recently, damn fools and I can't find an alternative anywhere.

Considering how much I hear about this place, I finally went to try it a week ago... Considering the amount of people that were there, I figured it had to be mind blowing, but IMO I've had better poutines...

I've only had it once (and I was slightly drunk), but I remember Patati Patata's poutine being one of the best.

Has anyone ever been to The Bayou on Rachel street near St-Laurent? They have a terrace, very nice in the summer. Anyways, try their Italian poutine if you ever go. One of my favourites.

its super overrated, because most people go there wasted, and when your wasted, you can be eating a 2 year old hot dog, and find it "mind blowing"

The best Poutine comes from those converted old yellow school buses you find along some of the lonely highways going up north. where the owner himself peels real potatoes and dumps them in 6 month old oil and the fries drip oil when he serves them up. Beware of that 15 year old German guard dog tied up with a chain in back of the bus. No Coke here, just Pepsi...

Their Double-Végé has lots of veggies in it and is great.

I tried their "Cochonne" yesterday. Regular poutine with lots of bacon in it (not bacon bits, real bacon), it was awesome.
Agreed. Love that place.

My friend who's from the Eastern Townships always talked about The Snack. So one day, we went on a poutine road trip. It was awesome.

Best poutine I had was in a "cantine" in Les Escoumins on my way to Forestville. It was 10 years ago... So good.
