I still don't know what is going on with brown with his hits.

Yeah he's been very quiet from his checking game. When Brown isn't throwing his weight around, it's usually a sign that he's not on top of his game. He was credited with 4 hits today, but I can't remember any of them (and usually the statisticians are VERY liberal with those numbers).

For as much as Kopitar had the puck on his stick today, he was only credited with one shot on goal. Brown and Williams with two apiece. Carter had no shots on goal, Richards with two and Penner with three.

So the top six was credited with a combined 10 shots on goal. That isn't good enough, especially when you factor in the quality of most of those shots. I know Penner had two point blank shots that he was unable to get over Schneider and Richards also had a good look from the slot, but he put that one wide.

Then you look at the top three offensive dmen. Doughty had no shots on goal, Muzzin had one shot, and Voynov had one shot as well. The team isn't going to get on the scoreboard when the top six forwards and top three offensive defensemen aren't getting enough shots through.

Overall, it was a very low shooting game with the Kings outshooting the Canucks 20 to 13. When you add the lack of physical play and the lack of net presence from the Kings, it is easy to find what is wrong with the team in the past couple games. They're not playing their brand of hockey.

Bad luck. That's two in a row the home team deserved. Stick with it.

That was just ill timed seeing how he was one of the last men back at the time he made that decision. It was also a very questionable pinch by Scuderi. Just an all around terrible play and poor decision making by more than one individual on that specific play.

I'm talking about Brown playing his game where he is aggressive on the forecheck and making life hell for on rushing players or defensemen. The Kings made it too easy for the Canucks to get out of their zone.

I've noticed Brown letting up on some hits, he's not finishing them. I wonder what's wrong.

It really feels like most of the team is...but Brown is certainly most noticeable.

I was curious that with 1:45 left and a faceoff in the Canucks end, why Sutter didn't put out a unit w/Kopi, Carter and Brown up front with Doughty and Richards on the point. put out your A team, try to get a goal.

The playoffs are a whole new season agreed. LA was already on a tear and a pretty well-oiled machine at that point last year.

I don't think LA looked very dangerous that whole game. The previous game against the Canucks was dreadful. The Kings needed to step it up a gear and I just didn't see it. I want no part of the Canucks if we make it to the playoffs, let the Ducks or Chicago knock them out.

I know it is an exhausting grind. This team was not firing on all cylinders yesterday.
Next week should be a good gauge on how we are matching up with stronger teams.

It bothered me too...I figure that gives us more time to go for it.

Sutter is too traditional, he waits until "1:00" and I think he needs to be more flexible in this regard.

Brown is going through one of his "I'm a 4th line plug" phases at the moment. Can't hit, can't pass, can't shoot. Hopefully he's getting it out of his system now so that he's ready to go back into beastmode come playoff time.

Nothing like a little LA Times overreaction. Helene must have enjoyed the flashback to last season.

Brown can be such a good player if his head doesn't always manage to go up his ass.

Just wondering I'm not saying he's a bad captain but I get the feeling sometimes that he's too quiet/uninvolved at times. Does anyone else notice this?

1:45 is time for 2 shifts

Havn't read the pgt, but that was a solid game, no need to go crazy with line changes and stuff. Stick to the same lines and wait for the puck luck to change

Kings have scored zero goals since I went to Hawaii. I'll be back tomorrow so don't worry.

I really expected at least 2 points vs Dallas, Vancouver.

Now with two difficult away games, its entirely possible we will lose four in a row.

As an eternal optimist, I'm automatically programmed to think that we'll break out of our 2 game losing streak against the best record team in the nhl.

Streaky player, that's Brown.

You guys have been watching him for 8 years now, and ask this question every year.

It's who Brown is.
