Guess this puts them out of the race for Iginla... or does it?

Edit: I'll help you out: it means Anaheim is overachieving. (Like. Us.)
Only stat that means anything is something I like to call the standings.

Would love to know the "Fenwick" of our team last year.
Advanced stats continuously misrepresent players and teams. What I want to know is who came up with the formulas? Who, in the NHL, seriously uses it to evaluate players? Proof that these numbers actually mean anything. Seems like some stats grad student did this for fun without any understanding of what they mean.

Im quite liking winning for a change.
Just leave to Leafs fans to take all the fun out of watching a successful team, after just beating a team they've been trampled on for two years none the less. Can't we just be happy we're in a playoff spot TODAY and leave it at that?

@Eklund reports a scout said "trade will be heard worldwide" let the speculation begin

TSN is reporting the Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins have a deal in place that would see the Stars trade team captain Brenden Morrow to the Penguins.
In return, TSN is reporting the Stars would receive a package that includes Penguins defense prospect Joseph Morrow (no relation).
TSN is reporting the deal could be hinging on Brenden Morrow's decision to waive his no-trade clause.

Dallas fans seem to be happy with the Morrow return. Some were saying they'd have been happy with a 3rd roung pick or higher...

Mirtle was going on and on last week about how Pittsburgh used advanced stats to tell them that Neal would work well with Malkin. Like it was some sort of revelation that a power forward would work well with one of the best Cs in the world.

Everyone and there grandmother could see it, but hey, thank advanced stats!

Two Morrows, 2 Morrows. Shero trades for B. Morrow, and hopes the Cups not far away. (sung to the Sun will come out tomorrow)

Lol really eh.

Like Shero needed advanced statistics to tell him that they were giving it to Dallas dry on that one.

Spoke w/ Brendan Morrow via text and he told me he still hasn't waived his no trade to go to Penguins. Still discussing it over with Family

If Morrow wants to win a cup I suggest he approves this trade.

If it's 1 for 1, Dallas robs Pittsburgh.

Apparently Pittsburgh is adding more, as Joe Morrow is "apart of a package".

Blacker (21): AHL 52 3 7 10
Morrow: (20): AHL 57 4 11 15

Can't say I've seen Morrow play.... heard the deal might also include Robidas.

Penguins have arguably the best team in the league. They are going for the cup. With Depres, Pouliot, Maatta in the pipeline on D, they can handle the loss of Morrow.

I would think so. I really didnt think that Iginla was going to the pens either way. Iginla seems fit to be a bruin. I think thats where he'll end up

Reminds me of when Chiarelli gave Burke a 1st, 2nd and Colborne for Kaberle.

I seems like GM's do these kind of make up trades if one gets fleeced in a prior deal.
