The whole IOU thing isn't all that ridiculous, apparently it's actually happened before.

I think there is a Chellios-Savard trade story involving a 1st round pick that was supposed to be traded back, but the GM got fired before it could be evened up.

Don't take it out on Morrow. It's not his fault the team gives a no trade clause to every player who signs an extension.

Hopefully Joe is telling him his plans to sell off Roy, and maybe Robidas and Jagr as well. Thats should make it a no-brainer for Brenden to waive his NTC.

If he accepts it, I hope Pitt wins the cup. Would love to see that happen for Brenden.

James Sheppard for a 3rd, Minnesota/San Jose comes to mind immediately.

The more I think about it, the more I don't love it. But you gotta pay to play, who knows what the market is like when 25 teams are in the playoffs by the end of the week, ya know? Maybe the Pens - who haven't won a playoff series in what seems like forever - are just eager to get rockin here...

In my slightly less mature days (as if you could tell the difference...), I gave birth to a full litter of kittens when we traded Noah Welch for Gary Roberts. Prospects are just prospects until they're pros...

The Penguins and Dallas Stars have a trade in place that would see veteran forward Brenden Morrow headed to Pittsburgh in exchange for a package that would include defenceman Joe Morrow, according to sources. The deal, however, hinges on Brenden Morrow waiving his no trade clause. Full Story.
Wow... So we're getting more than just Joe...

Considering their prospect pool, specifically on D, I think a cup will be more than worth one of those prospects. They're still absolutely loaded on the blueline for years to come.
