Nagy awarded $3m

While the Dumont award was way too much, I think this award is exactly where Nagy falls, so kudos to this arbitrator.

106 games, 108 points in his last two seasons.

So $3m for a PPG guy considering he has been injury prone lately, not a bad deal for the Coyotes at all

I think he could have had more without the arbitration...poor Nagy. I don't think he will stay with them for too long...

Direct comparison would put Nagy on the same level as Dumont? I'd take Nagy 100 times before taking Dumont.

Yeah, direct comparison should have landed closer to Briere/Gomez, IMO. Maybe Nagy should fire his agent. (Or whoever was representing him in the hearing).

Nagy has no playoff crediental and the one time he did play in the playoffs, he racked up 0 points in 5 games.

You can't compare him to Brière or Gomez because of that.

I can compare him to Briere and Gomez because I feel he's a player of the same general calibre, clearly a notch above York and Dumont.

But that aside, I can't see why 1 playoff season makes Briere worth $2M more. A few hundred k more, ok, I guess I could buy that, going purely on stats and Nagy's bad luck of being on crappy teams. $4.5M should have been attainable, on that basis. So his agent should still be in big trouble.

Wow, what a bargain. I wonder if the yotes are regretting giving away Johnson to save cap room now.

Playoffs are generally a huge part of the salary negociations. In Briere's case, it's also the "flavor of the month" in a sence because he was really a story himself, coming back from injury and playing so-well in the playoffs THIS YEAR.

There's no-way i was expecting Briere money, or Gomez money for that matter.

I'm still surprised mind you, close to 1M lower than i expect.

It's the only explanation possible.

Still, I don't think it's a decision in line with the other ones.

I'd also take Nagy over Dumont in a heartbeat, the reason Nagy's value was hurt is because he is exactly that. He gets hurt alot and usually only plays 65 or some games
