Grabovsky clips

I'm learning how to make clips off my dvd-r's. It's a work in progress as I have no clue what I'm doing. But I took a game from last season, Dynamo vs SKA and put together some small clips of the game. For some reason there's no sound but next batch I will add some music if possible. I have broken up the clips by period, then tried to combine them but that's no working. So here's the first batch of 3 clips from the 1st period.

http://www.habprospects.com/modules....howpage&pid=63

Don't know why but windows movie maker won't let me import the 2nd batch of 3 clips, it says the codec isn't on my computer, which doesn't make sense since it is. I'll have to work on it later to see what I can do. Hopefully I can get them up and running.

I hope to have either Emelin, Valentenko vs CHLers or Perezhogin vs Korpikari as the next set of vids.

Grabovsky needs to play in the AHL to perform well in the NHL, patience is important in this case, do not expect Mikhail Grabovsky showing is huge upside next year, he'll have a bad training camp and also a bad first AHL year.

This is sad, but reality, young russians player have difficulties to adapt themselves to the american lifestyle, because of the language, the size of the ice.

I have no doubt Grabovsky is a good player, but, it is very unlikely to see this guy in the next two years as a hab.

Were you watching the same clip I was? In the first one, he gives away the puck at his own blue-line, then loses a battle along the boards in the offensive end and then takes a high-sticking penalty. I'm as excited as the next guy about Grabovsky but that was pretty lousy if you ask me...

This isn't a 20 year old Perezhogin/Kostitsyn type prospect that's coming into camp with more pimples than pro experience... this is a 22-23 year old man whose been one of the more impressive young players in the 2nd best league in the world for a few years now.

Take a look at Datsyuk's career as well as the relationship he had with Federov and Larionov once he got to Detroit and then get back to me about Grabovsky's guaranteed bad year that he's about to have.

Anyone else notice that he was doing quite a bit of stickwork in those clips? I don't watch RSL much, and for all I know that could be the norm, but I don't really like it.

I used virtualdub to take the vob files and convert them to avi then I used windows movie maker and then uploaded them on putfile.

I fixed the 2nd batch of Grabovsky clips and this time I got the sound to work, although it's in Russian.

Thank you Dan for the clips, Kostitsyn videos are nice..

For people who have problems with the videos, here is some advices from Putfile help page :

* Make sure that you have the latest Windows Media player
* Make sure that you give the video enough time to load, it may take a few minutes.
* If the video still does not play, the video may be encoded with DIVX or another custom codec.
* Mac users must use the latest OSX, Internet Explorer, and install all the latest players. Even then some of the Windows media may not work on your Mac.

The Flash animation does not play.

* Make sure that you have the latest Flash player installed.
* Make sure that you give the media enough time to load, it may take a few minutes.

There will be more coming but it takes a while to get the clips up and running. I will have more of Grabo/Kostitsyn, and either Emelin or Valentenko next. The great thing for others would be if I ever figure out how to get my VHS tapes onto my computer. I am working on a list of all the games I got on tape and it's getting very, very long.

I'm glad that others enjoy the clips. Too bad that they have to be compressed cause they look like crap compared to the dvd-r's.

Added some more clips including 1 of Pavel Valentenko in which you can see Lats, Carle and Aubin. I plan on adding more Valentenko clips later on tonight or tomorrow hopefully.

I saw that one before. What he does after the goal makes me laugh. I'm not quite sure if it has any other signification but to me it looks like he's taking the monkey off his back throws it on the ice and kills it with his stick.
