I would like it if Tissot was to be a starter too next week ad let Brovsky in the last 30 min or so. With a 4-0 record, we can make experiments and see where our kids are at in their development. Ferrari makes it easy to integrate the kids, right now I wouldn't trade for any other center-back in the league.
Don't think Brovsky should be on the bench at all. He's been one of our better players since the season started.

Mi-temps Ligue réserve: #IMFC 2-0 #NYRB. Buts de Wenger (16') et Luarca (29') #IMFClive

From the tweets that I have been reading, Wenger has been dominant & Blake Smith is REALLY fast

Brovsky is a rock defensively, no way he sits unless he is injured or tired. His progression has been phenomenal since his humble beginnings with us. He will be a good one for a long time, one of my favourite players, no question.

As for Ouimette, he was very nervous at first, but he settled down quickly. Honest performance for a first game, he will only be better next week. Practicing with guys like Nesta and Ferrari will help him A LOT! I got the chance to talk to him after the game and he was still nervous. He was happy, but he looked relieved that his first game was behind him. He will be a great one, he shows good things at such a young age.

One of my favourite English language La Liga pundits decided to start commenting on MLS, his thoughts on the Impact:

@NewWorld_Soccer

@impactmontreal do seem to be playing the game so much faster than everyone else at the moment. Huge intensity.

This is pretty cool:

Nick Sabetti

Impact reserves beat Red Bull reserves 3-0. 4-5 of the Impacts reserve players could easily be starters on many teams across #MLS #IMFC

So I guess they play a 4-2-2 ? Messoudi is a striker right?

Messoudi is a attacking midfielder if I remember correctly.

Does Shally coach the reserve games or the assistant coaches?

I know Marsch coached the reserve games last year but I would think it is Eullafroy.

Imo Tissot will get his first game in the Canadian Cup. No reason to sit Brovsky, he's playing well.

I would like to see Wenger get more playing time, too.

Normally no, but most times admission is free, so you can go see the games without paying anything. Generally, its the day after the MLS game, at around 10-1030 AM (Lets say MTL play NYRB Saturday, Sunday it will be MTL Res v NYRB Res)

I expect us to field a competitive, yet young roster for the Championships. Here is the type of XI I'd expect.

------------------Bush------------------
Valentin-Ouimette-Camara(Rivas*)- Tissot
-----------------Warner----------------
Smith--Mallace---Ubiparipovic----Nyassi--
---------------Wenger-------------------

Rivas/Camara depends on who needs the more playing time when everyone will be fit and healthy.

I expect our best squad out there for the CC. Those games matter much more than early season MLS games.

Would be extremely disappointing if the coach takes the championship lightly. I want to see the impact play in the champions league.

I guess you guys are right. But remember that most of these games are mid-week and both two-legged. You guys are right that CCL soccer next season would be great for the team (AND for the Cap, as it gives you an extra 500k allocation money for qualification I believe). But I woulden't mind to see a few players that are reserves get some minutes. Maybe not as much as I suggested above, but maybe 2-3 guys, like Smith and Nyassi instead of Romero and Pisanu.

One thing is for sure though, Schallibaum already confirmed that Bush would be our GK for the whole Canadian Championship.

Really? I mean, I like Bush but give him the MLS week-end games. I'm sick of seeing TFC being Canadian champions. Plus, this great start is exactly what we needed for the CC.

Well Schalli is on a one year contract and management made it pretty clear that making the playoffs was their goal. I'm disappointed too because I want to see the Impact in the champions league and I'll be at the return match against TFC.

Plus, the 2 TFC games are between 4 league games in less than 3 weeks.

We are playing 6 games in 17 days, starting with the first CCL game on April 24th, ending with a home game vs RSL on May 11th

between that we have:

-Chicago at home on the 27th
-TFC CCL at home on May 1st
-Road game at San Jose on May 4th
-midweek Road game at NYRB on May 8th

So no way we play the starting XI for those games.

I could see a few players doing double duty, but not many.

Brovsky, Camara, maybe but probably not Ferrari, possibly Bernier and one of Felipe or Romero.

I would think that there is more of a chance to play a better squad for the first game vs Toronto, since the next game is at home vs a weak chicago side, and again at home vs TFC. Plus if we can win by a margin at BMO we can risk a weaker squad, and home field advantage suggests we can win with a weaker squad for the return game as well.

All speculation of course hopefully some sign/news of their strategy will come out soon. Perhaps in the newly created by-week where the LA game used to be?

How interesting would it be if we played the full starting XI back to back TFC and Chicago, then full reserve team at home? High risk high reward.

I'd play the best available IX on those two games vs Toronto and play a weaker squad against the weak Chicago Fire. I hate saying this but the SJ game will be one we can afford to lose since they are not in our conference.
